Back to MPAA, and over on the official message boards there's some good revelations coming out from the likes of Tony Gardner. Apparantly the cast all found out they were being axed about 4 weeks into filming, so real emotion would have been felt when filming that episode.
Our very own James also got told off by Tony Gardner in one thread as well!

It's because I psoted that I thought the new series will probablly be crap over at IMDB, and a said "some people might feel the show has jumped the shark" at wikipedia. I probabally shouldn't have, but as I've said, I've seen plenty of shows go through changes like this, and despite the best efforts of writers and cast, they inevitably go downhill and get axed fairly swiftly. It's a shame though, as Series 7 has been really good. I was a bit too harsh using the word "crap" to describe my thoughts on series 8, though I know it won't stand up to series 1-7, when shows take this direction they never do.
