So Media Merchants was independent when Zzzap was on (hence why it was assigned to Meridian) and now it's been sold to SMG, all of its future programming will be Scottish TV's mark?

I'm really not sure about this, but I think that Art Attack was a TVS production in the early days. When the franchise ended, I seem to remember Media Merchants was set up to continue producting Art Attack. It might explain the Meridian connection with Media Merchants.

Compare that to the classic formula of citv bumper, sponser, titles, sketch/song, menu, welcome with guest line up and contact details, band, sketch, programme 1 part 1, sketch, adverts, game, programme 1 part 2, sketch, adverts, guests, programme 2 part 1, sofa, band, little sketch, adverts, guests, programme 2 part 2, sketch (usually chums), adverts, game (usually wonkey donkey), cduk menu, music video, thank guests, you know where its at, adverts, cd:uk.

Yeah, and...

The versions mainly shown are disney channel are pre twice weekly versions when the new theme tune came in and the shows became shorter as they were on twice a week (Twice weekly began in 1999, and lasted one series only). So these are autumn 1998 and before. Many are the 1997 and 98 series lately, so these will have had the newer endcap. Occasionally you will get really early ones where Neil looks like he's just jumped of the set of motormouth.

You can tell these are early as he looks young, the set is basic, the titles are the old ones with the tunnel design flying through art materials with the mona lisa and the painted smile, and on very rare occasions you get to see the blue art attack jumper, and the initial art attack jumpers were just sweatshirts with the art attack logo painted onto them. (These have a basic version of the media merchants endcap with ruler twank).

Now of course they have the big jumpers with the round neck, the embroidered logo, the round edging on the sleeves and neck, a second logo on the arm, and a hole for the microphone to got through, as the neck is too high for it to go on there and be heard successfully. They have the new music with dancing art materials, and the slightly changed set with the messy looking paint box in the back and he works on something else instead of the wooden box, though they may have changed that back!

Yeah I have a sad life. Its been a formula for 4 years, at least 2 of these used this exact formula. I did forget to add challenge ant though, before part 1 of programme 2 usually, guests were used when they didnt do challenge ant.

You dont get to see the smg endcap, or scottish endcap. On art attack on CiTV and Disney Channel (art attack is shown round the world on Disney Channel) they tend to just show the media merchants endcap.

The other person I heard was Nigel Pickard, now head of ITV itself, but I knew it was setup to keep making programmes like Art Attack after the demise of TVS.

Though I know Disney Channel still show the odd episode from the TVS era, they don't bother to change the endcap or credits, it now seems like every episode was made in 1997 by Scottish. But when it was shown on TCC before they closed, they still had "TVS Production for IT=" or Media Merchants/ Scottish Enterprises for ITV etc etc.

Now that the american graphics have com eto the UK, they have ECP's at the end of every programme, bar programmes that have credits over part of the show. So art attack (even though they replay the big attack at the end of the show) has them removed, has a short bit of the titles and then the a disney with credits on one side and with the next programme information on the left, with the programmes theme tune played over them. At the end of the titles, no endcap appears as such as the credit box goes of the screen with the disney channel logo that goes along with that backing appears, so effectively every disney channel programme has an endcap of the disney channel unless if has credits over part of the programme when they leave the endcaps on!

I know what you're saying, I've seen this. Essentially Disney have remade the end credit sequence for pretty much all of the stuff they show, stuck it in a mickey mouse head and ears and stuck another bigger one up that looks to be a grown DOG that has the ECP.

It just looks horrible IMO and of course it means when they next rebrand they're going to have to change all that back again or into whatever new format they come up with next.

The new look that they have bought in is quite fresh and modern compared to the last set. It does mean that Disney Channel UK has no individuality now though. I cant wait to see what they will do for christmas, infact I cant wait to see what any one does for christmas. But unlike the people that already have their decorations up, I am willing to wait till the end of november at least!

Dont know. Though it could be something to do with the rugby. They are handing them saturday afternoons as the rugby will be running on saturday mornings soon.

I would have thought putting everything together would be better. Like move on the ball and the news to 12:30 then the film and pirate island (i wonder if this is so that the series will finish for christmas, as it is a series CiTV have brought, so the episodes will have already been made, meaning that they dont have a say in the amount of them).

They had CiTV in the saturday afternoon spot a few years ago. It started at 1:30 or something like that and shownt programmes such as hey arnold, 24 seven and sabrina. SM:tv was also broadcast in the morning. I think it was something to do with the premiership repeat taking CiTV's sunday morning slot.
