The Sun today claims CDUK will be axed if ratings don't improve. Since Cat left they've plummeted, as a result ITV have ordered a revamp, and the show will be re-launched in September with a 'fresh new look and new presenters'.

There's been reports every few months for years about CD:UK apparantly facing the axe and it hasn't happened yet. Plus this is just The Sun who probably made half of it up and are probably basing it on the current Sunday figures which were obviously going to be lower than on a Saturday.

So there will be a new look, but lets face it, there isn't much you can do, there will always be a mix of performances, videos, interviews and news. The content can only be based on which acts are currently in the charts which is more likely to be a reason why people arn't tuning in, so a lot of it is out of ITV's hands. It's still better than TOTP anyday.

Also moving it out of the 11.30am Saturday slot doesn't help either. They should bring back The ITV Chart Show, no presenters, no acts, pure videos and dodgy graphics.

I still wish they'd never axed it. It was easily the best music show on TV. They did briefly produce the Chart Show for a couple of weeks on Channel 4 in early 2003 though, and un til fairly recently, they were producing B4- also on Channel 4 mornings.

CD:UK was good when it started, but it's gone downhill since the "chart " element was thrown out the window. When it first started, most performances were songs in the chart (Indeed, the song titles included the chart number), but now barely any seem to be. They often don't even play the Number 1 song any more. It either needs reformatting (preferably to how it was back in 1998/99- which was the best formula IMO) or axe it entirely.

I didn't realise the show has got like that, I very rarely watch it due to work commitments, last time I did watch it which was at the beginning of June, it was presented by Dave Berry and Kirsty Gallacher, and to say the least it wasn't very good, the music wasn't that great. Dave should stick to MTV and Kirsty doesn't do it for Music TV.

I think CD:UK worked well between 1999 and 2001, when it was still Ant, Dec and Cat, it had the chart and frankly it became cool and respectable compared to Top Of The Pops, but CD:UK also gained a fantastic lead in from SM:tv, which usually had either Steps or Westlife as guests on the programme.

I wonder if MOM will have the longer song on tomorrows show, or even menus? They will have probably painted the Cakey Sk8 wall too. Do you think MOM would relaunch in September to coincide with the CD:UK relaunch, or do you think MOM is fine as it is?

I think MOM may tink around with things, titles, graphics, set, etc around September, or at any point if CiTV relaunch.
For example, if CiTV either launches as a channel when ITV4 do, or if they take over the Toonattic slot (if ITV buys up Disney's share in GMTV) then they may relaunch CiTV. Then at this point, I could see MoM relaunching.

It's technically CiTV's star show, so I wouldn't be surprised if/when they launch a CiTV channel that they create a spin off Saturday Show Extra type show to follow MoM. The only problem with that would be that it may take viewers off cd:uk, something that they could do without. That is unless they move cd:uk to a different slot.

Personally as I've said many times, I've never understood why they have never trialled in an early saturday evening slot. Especially at the moment when they have nothing on a Saturday night. Surely they would be able to get more live acts early Saturday evening. It's whether ITV would risk it. It could go two ways.

I'm glad that ITV have ordered a relaunch, as long as they're willing to give them a bit of money for it. I doubt they will give them TOTP's relaunch budget, but they should give them something.

I've never understood why they don't have cd:uk spinoff's such as the spotlight interviews and hotshots on ITV2. Or they could always go down the pop world route of striking a deal with MTV. That would make a nice little link up, as bar the Euro Top 20, MTV don't have an actual chart show, to my knowledge anyway.

I noticed ToonAttik has had a little re-vamp this week with a new set and a new graphics. I only caught the last few minutes of it so i didnt get a chance to see the set properly.

MOM was quite disappointing this week.

Good points:
-The balcony area was used again
-The coloured panels have been replaced on the balcony as they were getting creased

Bad points:
-Shortened MOM song at start- again
-Cakey Sk8 was still the wedding cake
-No Doc
-No Name That Tone
-No Food Fight
-Judgemental- Holly didn't pretend to be mental
-No MOM song at the end, Lemar was singing
-Again no menus
-No Thankyou desk or Gunge tank at the end

Also, why can't ITV decide what to do before MOM? I'm glad they have got rid of that old exploding logo, usually it goes straight onto Cheestrings, but last week it had an announcer with the ITV logo, and this week straight onto Cheestrings.

And I'm still waiting for an e-mail reply about the lack of song and menus. Rolling Eyes

The gunge tank was used in the show it was just not at the end like the original ending. Im starting to like Judge Mental I say keep the celebrity version!. It was strange that the doctor was off when his idol Science from Big Brother was a guest there, that would of been something to watch!. Also please get rid of Drake and Josh, i didnt get in to it the first time it was on MOM and i havent got in to it the second time.

I assume that the doc was off due to pre-booked holiday. It's a pity that they invited Science onto MoM whilst he was off, after all the Doc could of had "Science in the lab".

I like how they are using more of the set, with the Hyena's having their own area under the tiered seating. I think that MoM could do with being on until 12pm regularly, as from what I saw of today it felt a bit crammed.

VERY disappointing show this week.

Arrow I don't really mind the short version at the start as I can understand it from MOM's point of view, it would probably put older viewers off if it was the very long version and gives them more studio time.
Arrow Its a shame there was no Doctor this week and was weird that they didn't say he was on holiday or something like they have in the past.
Arrow Why did they bother to have Mr Lee on their this week when he didn't do anything apart from a tiny part in Judge Mental where he didnt even speek!
Arrow Glad food fight has gone but they should have brung in a new game or bring back Jibba Jabba or UFO because having Cakey Sk8 that early didn't seem right and they seemed to fill the rest of the show talking which was a bit dull.
Arrow Ram ray is OK but it is getting very dull now with the SAME format every week (even though Ray changes into something new). I think that he should go back to being a Security Guard and build on from there.
Arrow Noticed "Relly From Helly" is back again this week but shouldn't have had a break in the middle as it didn't suit it.
Arrow I think they the person who loses Judge Mental should be gunged at the end with the MOM theme around it (like they used to) or be made to do the Thankyou Desk.
Arrow The programmes in the show are too long and therefore eat up the studio time rapidly (along with the ads), it should be one ep of Spongebob and King Arthurs Disasters.
Arrow There should be more random challenges/games for the guests each week like when they made Mcfly hold a newspaper while a man ripped it apart by a whip and Darius having to put his hand in a bowl of vicous fish. They hardly used Lamar this week!
Arrow I'm liking the new Hyiena's segment but why isn't it live? One of the highlights of the show though
Arrow Why don't they use that door anymore, the bragged about how good it is when it was new but now don't even use it.

Improvements:
-Long song at the end
-Name That Tome
-Random challenges/games with the guests
-Normal time for Cakey sk8
-New/used game to be introduced
-Ray to return as a security guard with sketches
-Performances in the middle

This weeks MOM: 6/10

saturdaymorning
On This Morning it's been like the bb because Richard and Denise were standing in for Phillip and Fern.

So the next time Stephen,Holly or both are off they need SMTV presenters to do it!

When CiTV goes back to 7 days they should have:
9.00 cd:uk
10.00-12.05 MoM

Also i think MoM should get titles intergrated with the menu like SMTV did and split the year aswell.

There has been no 'long' song at the start nor any song at the end for many months, I can safely say it is never coming back!. Many people didn't like it and thought it was a bit boring, longwinded, childish, delete as appropriate

Can we please draw a line under this one now, its a bit boring every single week people saying 'Poor show this week, short song at the start, no song at the end'!

Personally I found this week's show a bit poor, Due to the fact I don't watch Big Brother, I didn't know who the guests were, and the fact they dominated every item meant it found it boring.

I don't think it should be on until 12. Being on so long means I end up missing items as you can't really be in front of the TV all morning right till 12.
