Is this no presenter Monday or something on CiTV?

I think its something to do with the programmes they are showing today. In the past the shows used to build up from 15 minutes to 25 minutes for the last show. Now they seem to be all 25 minute shows (especially today!). If you add 2-3 minutes of adverts to the start and middle of each show, plus many programme trailers, you end up with no time for links, or links into and out of every show. Before they used to do links into every show with talking over credits, now they seem to chop of the credits and into advertisments, though they need advertisments to make their own profit to create more shows.

They do show more trailers now a days, though today this could be because they have no time for in vision, but too less for straight into shows.

Why has this run of The Flintstones got a different theme tune? I'm sure I've seen these episodes with the original theme.

For some reason, Sunday 5th October has GMTV Up On The Roof showing Yu-Gi-Oh five episodes from 9.25am-12noon. Strangely, it's not due to Grand Prix - there's the USA one the week before, and Japan on the 12th - so why has GMTV had it's time extended to six hours that day? Will they lose their slot outright the following or previous week or something - and will SMTV be KOed as well?

Is it anything to do with the Rugby World Cup?

If not, then ITV probably owes GMTV some time from a previous time.

The Rugby World Cup will virtually eliminate weekend editions of GMTV and SMTV from our screens throughout October and November - see this thread:

Ive never heard this theme tune before it was on SMTV & CiTV, I wonder why CiTV has bought the rights to this rather than a newer programme. Will children nowadays like the old style flinstones? They should have bought the rites to the new episodes of scooby doo (when i say new i mean the ones that were made 2002/3 not the ones from the 70's/80's called all new), even though CBBC has the rites to the old series, surely CiTV could grab the new ones.

I think the easiest way for CiTV to have plenty of link time, enough adverts and the new programmes is to show CiTV like a saturday morning programme, where it would just be billed as CiTV from 3:30 - 5 (after little CiTV). They could then just show their own shows such as today they would show globoloco and my parents are aliens, and then use the time that the other show would take for link time, extra competitions, phone in's, sketches and on air games!

Im sure its being said (as I replied with there) that if Rugby comes in SM:tv time, then SM:tv will broadcast after the rugby in the afternoons instead of the morning, thus why I refered to it there as SA:TV Live/Gold

That theme has been on CBBC before as far i was knew i thought that was a more early set of title for the show.

Somebody at CiTV is definitely cutting it fine. As soon as the last scene of MPAA went out, it was a very rushed ending to CiTV I thought. See they haven't done anything about the size of the DOG though, or am I the only one who thinks its too big? I must be Smile

Flintstones - like Whataday, I'm sure these are just the original cartoons in new wrapping - I mean they look, sound and feel like The Flintstones but the opening sequence I'd never seen before - it looks very Flintstones though, I wonder if this was made for another audience in another country and they've got the rights to the episodes with the wrong wrappers?

I'm sure I have too, it might be that when they've been previously broadcast they had the more recognisable theme attached. So when ITV got the series they may have been given copies from what seems to be the original series. Bit like Only Fools and Horses, the first series had a different theme but gets repeated with the more recognisable theme.

Can’t see this mentioned in the thread (Unless I'm going insane),but when did CITV start having its own breakbumper and CITV break flashes? First time I have seen them today? They do look nice too! Nice change from Yellow/Blue blacks and ITV breakbumper.

Nope, the very early epsiodes used a different opening and closing sequence. As CITV are showing the first seirs, they are showing the original sequence. They aren't going to do an Only Fools And Horses and change the sequence on the early editions just becuase the later one is more familiar. Certinally Boomerang uses the original sequences (well, it's negaotiable with the closing sequence- it seems to be popular CN & Boomerang policy to show the same credit sequence on all episodes when they are using credit squeezes)

From last Monday, although as I live in Carlton Central land I don't see the break flashes so wouldn't know if they were present or not. Nobody else has reported them though and I wouldn't have seen them anyway as Central aren't using any break flashes in normal ITV programming breaks never mind CiTV ones.

LOL, 'cos Central make CITV. If Central don't use them during CITV, why would anyone else?!
