I can't be exact on dates or anything but when CBBC first started The Saturday Show, it was great, then after a while they put something else on, then it returned with a tottally new look, presenters and layout and it was all rubbish. If MoM changed and it turned out for the worse all those that wanted a change would be really disapointed and the ones who liked it how it was would be even more so. But as I said it looks like it's staying put for now.

I thought last weeks show was quite good, and this new game with the doc could be quite good.

I see what you mean. They don't need a major format change, maybe add a sketch or two and new items here and there, then update graphics, maybe possibly even get some titles, update the set, etc. It should evolve rather than be transformed.

Nothing happened to the Saturday Show between relaunches, it was on for 52 weeks (or there about) with Dani & Joe, and then in January the set and titles were updated in time for the launch of the CBBC Channel in Feb 2002, then Dani & Joe continued with the new set which was the balconey set with the audience on top as opposed to them in the tiered pods.

In September 2002 they changed and made the programme younger with Fearne Cotton & Simon Grant taking on the healm, and it payed off with them narrowly beating SM:tv some weeks.

Back to MoM, I do like the MoM's the word phrase, but the M.O.M seems strange. If anything they should stick with the name, and just call it M.O.M in some respects. For example The Big Breakfast was sometimes referred to as the BB, as is Big Brother, and Big Brother's Little Brother is referred to as BBLB, but the title of the show doesn't change.

Anyway, moving on again... good show, it seemed like everyone was just there to have fun on Saturday, which is how it should be, list the items and don't bother with a script, now that would be interesting!

I really am loving Mr Lee, he has potential to be a great new addition. It's a shame he isn't on for longer, maybe to tally the scores.

The only problem now that Michael's gone is that these 2 player games can't really work as they have to use a guest as a captain.

They should perhaps tie Double Trouble and Name That Tone as rounds within a big game, I'm think End of The Show Show styley now!

As for Toonattik, the new GMTV show from Feb 5th, from the trailer it looks as though they will also be using Carlton and Granada's part of GMTV for kids by using some of CiTV's acquistions such as Spongebob.

And Liam was back on Studio Disney today, whether this is a move for him, we can only find out.

CD:UK definatly needs new graphics. The current set was in use when Ant & Dec were still hosting (albeit in 4:3)!

Yep indeed introduced September 2001, so not used much by Ant & Dec, but they were introduced then.

The thing is that these are the longest ones used yet the simplest concept. The most original set of titles in my opinion were the original ones where the brackets represented sound coming from objects with the brackets then joined to form the circle.

It's still a great show but I would like to see a TOTP style refresh of the titles and theme tune. As for the set, it would be nice as they've started to change the sets almost weekly if they could develop a similar set idea where they have many set pieces that can be put together in many different arrangements.

I'd like them to keep it just the way it is. It's a nice tradition on a Saturday morning.
And you know if they did change it everyone would say bring back the old titles/music!

Well some people.

I quite like things to be updated every now and then so as not to become tired.

I wouldn't mind it if they introduced something or remade the titles so that the 3D logo turns (from left side facing, to front on and then right side facing, maybe to wipe to mix to the studio), or add things just to make it more than moving dots. I do quite like red though.

Weren't these titles introduced to coinside with the launhces of international versions, and each has the same set of titles with the logo changed at the end, most probably why they were changed in 2001 as clips of Ant, Dec & Cat and previous cd:uk guests would have meant nothing to them.

Andrew,they need a relaunch.The originals only lasted a year and a week,
the second ones lasted 2 years and a couple of weeks and the current ones are getting on for 3 AND A HALF YEARS! I've got an idea for new ones anyway. Here's my idea:
A CD's playing in a CD player, then it flies out and whizzes round the town, maybe with music videos or clips flying with it at one stage. Then the CD turns into the word CD in the logo and the UK makes itself.
I don't know about the theme tune, could be a remix of both.

Also, SM:TV had a minor relaunch that week- the new version of the theme tune and the set was altered slightly.

Yep the theme that was only around for about 4 weeks and then was slightly altered, the graphics were changed to the bouncy logo (the best in my opinion, especially the programme wipe with the M hitting the screen and sliding down to reveal the programme), and the set had more circles added and the colours of the sections altered as did the sofa.

There was a brand new mix ident today with less idents and more bits of ident! I thought it should be slower,as i said in September.

BTW,what does everyone think of those raps that Tim's been doing lately over another edit of the mix ident before 4?

Well, I am really disappointed at MOM now as I'm, not even looking forward to tomorrows show because I am almost certain they will play the crap short version at the start and will still have the 'Thankyou Desk' at the end. I used to actually loookforward to MOM because of the better beginning but now am not.
I think the changes they need are:
Arrow Titles , the despiratly need titles and to play the longer version of the song, even if its the older titles they used first time round as the presetnters don't do the dance anymore.
Arrow Set , they really need a new set as that one is crap and the frist one was much better. Get rid of the audience seats and the metal door thing which is useless.
Arrow Another game which involves viewer interaction (like Ram ray does) and thats interesting.
Arrow Sketch similar to like 'Buthaven' used to be when it first started before it became recorded and rubbish.
Arrow Calling it Ministry Of Mayhem not the stupod M.O.M when the song clearly says Ministry Of Mayhem.
Arrow Less scripting is important, now its too scripted, especially The Doc sketch which has become awful.
Arrow More Mayhem and not sitting at the sofa talking all the time, craziness is needed, like Dick and Dom.
Arrow Bring back the Gunge tank because the ';Thankyou Desk' is getting boring especially as there are only two presenters and Holly seems to always get it. Plus it means cutting the end song!

To be constructive, the Ministry doesn't seem contrived as it did around a year ago but it would be better to move parts of it around and have an item like "Ram Ray" towards the end of the programme as it appears to be one of the more popular parts of the show at the moment. Having a high energy game like the above being followed by something such as the rather pointless "Double Trouble" gives the show more of an anti-climax.
