And whilst I'm in this thread, I'll be another one to say how good the Ministry was this week, whether this was down to Ricky Gervais (though he was the best guest I'd say), or whether it was down to them showing Atomic Betty, Pet Alien along with 2 episodes of MPAA, so everything felt rushed, but good in a way to give the show a good pace.

I don't usually watch MOM, when I've watched it before it's been very poor, I'll sometimes watch Dick and Dom, but on Xmas morning I just happened to notice the opening credits to Atomic Betty, which is a great show, so I watched that. I didn't realise it was MOM until Atomic Betty finished, the only reason I watched the rest was to see if there was another Atomic Betty, plus I also noticed Ricky Gervais was going to be on. I have to honestly say MOM was very good this week (maybe only having 2 presenters helped??) But Ricky Gervais was hilarious (as always) and I was suprised he was on there (because it's aimed a younger viewers) the crowd didn't find him that funny, maybe because he was dissing the show a bit when he said "This is wrong. Kids watch something good like Blue Peter. Go on flip over to the BBC" My Parent's Are Aliens wasn't that great, the new series is the worst in my opinion, its' become a little bit too predictable.

I also wondered whether anybody knew whether CiTV will be showing Atomic Betty again. I saw an short ad for all the new cartoons they have on ciTV and I noticed Atomic Betty was there. I've looked in next weeks Radio Times and it's not listed, though there isn't any CiTV on Monday because of a bank holiday. So does anyone know if it will be on the Monday after? Or will it not even be shown?

I was laughing at loud when he kept telling everyone to turn over especially the hymns bit, and also when Ray came on, he was a terrific guest, the interview he recorded with Stephen was great, but it was much better having him in the ministry.

As for Atomic Betty, I have become a fan of this show, and I'm glad that the ministry picked it up, it aired everyday for a few weeks on CiTV before Christmas, and the good news for you Razor is that it will be on Monday January 10th 4-4:30pm, and is definately on the ministry this Saturday Morning. As for the Saturday after, who knows what they're going to change!

Yeah, the bit with Ray was hilarious, not as funny as the guy in the wheelchair at the begining of his new DvD 'Ricky Gervais Live 2: Polotics', but still hillarious. I wonder if this segment from MOM will be put on his next live DvD (Which is apparently he is calling 'Science') as an extra? I was so glad Ricky also got the final words on the show right at the end, where he continued to say how wrong the show was, lol.

Yeah I knew Atomic Betty aired everyday before Xmas but only saw about 3 or 4 episodes. After I posted it I had the' ingenious' idea of checking the Radio Time website, lol. I know it's on MOM NEXT Saturday and that Betty is on Mondays, but I heard that THIS Saturday on MOM they're showing Mucha Lucha, I think, and some show called Teen Angel or something. So maybe they're going to alternate shows on MOM every other week for a bit of variety. Thanks for letting me know anyway . Very Happy

The MOM website says they're showing Mucha Lucha & Teen Angel, but ignore it. It hasn't been updated for AGES! MoM stopped showing Mucha Lucha & Teen Angel back in August, but never took it off the website.

I presume that any relaunch of the show will re correct the website. It isn't a bad site if the information on it was correct!

For some reason im expecting something major to change in tomorrow's show i dont know what exactly , if nothing changes it will just be a nother normal show. Will they use the x-mas theme they used on x-mas day? or will they have titles tomorrow?.

Teen Angel and Mucha Lucha back on the ministry i read a few posts up?
It would be great to see Teen Angel back im not too keen on Drake and Josh.

Same here, Im expecting nothing to change really because Stephen didn't mention about a new look/set last week and the same shows are on (I think) so I think we'll all be disapointed.
However, I think something will happen next week as the TV Guides simply say 'MOM' so am explecting titles, new set and a completely new lay-out.
I do hope I am wrong though and that the new look will happen this Saturday, Fingers Crossed!

The EPG on my bush freeview box was also calling the show "M.O.M" so maybe thats something to do with the "Bigger and Better" thing that Michael said when he left?.

It was a good start in to the new year this morning (dispite using that auful short version of the theme) although Stephen and Holly nearly started sing the full version!.

The doctor was on top form as usual but what was up with his hair this morning, was it something to do with tabby on the show? (I mean the long sticking up bit in the middle of his hair/wig!).

Nikki Sanderson is on next week, she was also on the same week that M.O.M started last year! so maybe thats something to do with the show's first birthday? anyway its a 9/10 this week. 9 because of that crap version of the theme they've started to regulary use now.

I have to say that MOM slipped again this week, last week was the first time I'd ever watched just about the entire show and it was actually good. Though I felt like it slipped this week (they really need to get Ricky Gervais on every week, which we all know will never happen, but he still boosted the apeal of the show on xmas day. There were a few comments thrown at Ray today which just screamed for Ricky Gervais to comment on.) In my view the problem is it's a 2 hour show, and there under an hour of the programmes, then the rest if it is usually aload of drivel (there were a few funny moments today) I mean if you think about it, you've got Pet Alien which lasts about 10mins (this morning was the first time I've ever watched it, not bad really), Atomic Betty which lasts 10 mins (best programme they have on there, probably the only reason why I watch M.O.M.) and then Drake & Josh which probably lasts anywhere between 20-25mins overall. So that all lasts about 40-45mins and I suppose with the ad breaks that add's up to about half the show. What they should do is show a double bill of Pet Alien and/or Atomic Betty and replace Drake & Josh with a better show, because it is quite poor in my view. Then maybe it would have a bit more appeal?? Well it would to me anyway.

I'd say that Drake & Josh will be coming to an end shortly, unless there have been two seasons that they will be showing together.

I'd like to see them pick up something like What I Like About You. It's a shame that this hasn't been seen on Terrestrial yet.

I don't agree about adding another episode of something though.
They did this near the beginning.

It went from the first show having just Tutenstein (around 20-25 minutes), and one ep of Spongebob (around 10 minutes), to showing two eps of Spongebob, Tutenstein and another cartoon, which later became the addition of Teen Angel.

What is needed is a few more items, whether it be through random sketches, a permanent sketch or games, etc.

I agree though they could do with a good calibre of guests, Ricky Gervais and Steve Coogan are about the biggest that they've had, though people like Bradley Walsh and Joe Pasquale have also been great.

They just need to keep that guest list up.
Though the thing is that every show should be good no matter of the guest/s.

As for a new look. I'm not sure a total over haul will be good for the show.
I wouldn't mind the return of titles in some shape or form (this would also fill up the show a bit), and maybe a bit of a set change.
But features wise it is looking good, I especially liked all of Stephens talking to the contestants, etc during today's UFO.

Looking at today's show though, if you didn't notice something was missing in the form of Sponsership bumpers around the show. When this happen on SM:tv in 1999 (Nesquick to Ambrosia Splat), the money from the new sponser changed the set (if you remember), so this may have something to do with a possible relaunch next week.
Though surely if they were to relaunch, why wouldn't they say anything at the end?

They definately need a better breed of guest, but like you said a show shouldn't depend on special guests to boost the ratings. But I feel that it would really help right now.

I did notice that there were no sponsership bumpers, though I wouldn't have if you hadn't mentioned it. Maybe they're not going to relaunch just yet, because like you said, they would say something. Maybe they just need to finalise the deal with the new sponsor or are still preparing the new set or whatever. Or maybe they'll just spring it on us.

I'd still personally like to the addition of another ep of Pet Alien or Atomic Betty, or even a different 10min show, but I would happily settle for extra sketches like you suggested, because I feel they spend too long building up to some items.

In my opinion good guests can carry a show that may otherwise be quite standard, even the musical guests can vary. Take Blue or McFly, you know you'll get a good Cakey Sk8, a bit of funny banter and laughs plus a good musical performance if you like that sort of thing. Then there's the Cheeky Girls, that seem to be on every other week. You get a dire song, dire chat, poor Cakey Sk8. Its practically worthless having them on at all.
The comedy guests have been the best. It's a pitty they can't get Ricky, Bradley or Joe on again!

Also good shows can add to the whole feel of the show. Anyone remember 'Becoming' on SMTV Live, That show pulled the entire programme downhill during the time it was on as it was totally irrelevant
