I personally hated the 1993-98 CITV pres, and I know I'm not the only one. In fact, from around 1996 I avoided CITV full stop, it was only 1998-ish when I started again.

I always felt SM:TV gave their presenters better sendoffs, as they had a whole show dedicated to it. Michael was just a quick montage at the end. I wasn't even aware Michael was leaving until that point.

It was kinda dedicated to him, they let him play Cakey SK8, take part in the lab with Stephen and the doc, of course we didnt know it was his last show until the last 5 minutes which to me was a bit unprofessional, usually SM:tv let you know in advance when a presenter was leaving.

Right, on to todays MOM.
They still played that crap cut-down version which is really rubbish. they could have played the long version fro Michael.
They had some christmas decorations up this week. Notice the Christmas graphics used on the Plasma, with the trees in the background covered with snow. Shame its not used on screen though.
The Doctor was quite funny today, not as funny since he got a telling off for the language used but still OK.
I liked Cakey Sk8 at the end as there was a proper cake fight with everyone taking park, maybe for Michael which was funny.
Race Ray was back! I'm sure it was recorded because Ray managed to change from those Clogs to the Mac quickly if it wasn't. I like the idea of the full track he had to go round with Huskies.
UFO was OK this week, its getting a bit samey now but I liked it where one of the callers had like a 10sec delay as Stephen said "I'll say goodbye, probably get to you in 4 minutes".
It was rather sudden that Michael was leaving as they announced it at the very end which was a shame as I would have liked the whole show dedicated with him, maybe with a few surprises added in. However, at least they did something with all his "best" bits.
I hope they will get a totally new look and titles next year along with a new presenter to replace Michael (maybe Des?).

Today's MOM: 9/10. (alot of jokes and bits added in, made an effort!)

I actually wasn't planning to keep this episode and tape over it with the Xmas show but I will probably keep todays because of Michael's last show, even though it's all on LP!

Lets just hope they don't use the short crap version for the Xmas show next week. Fingers Crossed!

James was rather quickly sacked. I'm not totally sure why, but I've heard it was comments he made about a guest on CD:UK. Not sure if that's true or not though. At least they didn't shun him and showed clips & sketches featuring im on SM:TV Gold rather than deny his existence.

We'll probably never know the truth, but I think they were going to sack him anyway.

Apparently, James did'nt like the Exec Producer onto him every week and not onto Cat, Tess and Brian.

Maybe he will.He wasn't on the trailer this morning but in a few TV books it says Holly Wiloughby,Stephen Mulhern and Micheal Underwood present it.But anyway i wondered who would replace him then i realised!Liam and Abbie! They'll have left Diggin' it and they'll need a job.And they'll be LOADS better than Stephen.Hopefully he'll have to leave next year!

Somehow I doubt that.
When presenting Studio Disney Live at the start of December they were ok, but nothing compared to their usual presenters, and as for kids TV Stephen's on top with Dick & Dom to be able to handle a live situation.

Plus 4 presenters is too many, we found that out with Live & Kicking (2000/01) and SM:tv (2002/03)!

As for Michael, it is a shame for him to go, and a shame that he was sacked, but that's the way it is sometimes I suppose.

I never understand why when presenters have been sacked they always thank their bosses, I know I wouldn't!

As for hyenas, to me that sounds like they're going along the path of puppets, which wouldn't be a bad thing as long as they've got good puppeteers, I don't understand why a presenter would have to go for puppets though, so perhaps I'm reading it wrong.

Maybe they are planning a new look MoM to coinside with their 1st birthday, wouldn't be a bad thing. To me they need to look at the best ideas from the past 12 months and put a lot of planning into it, perhaps they already have, and that is why they haven't been putting much effort into it lately.

As for Christmas. The plasma animation was a Christmas one, though at some points it was the stationary Jan-July logo, (very odd), but by the looks of the end menu with trees in the background and the ministry wearing a lovely sparkling santa hat, I expect they'll do an SM:tv and have Christmas Graphics for the Christmas Show, and maybe they'll add a few more decorations, who knows they may even do a Saturday Show Christmas 2001 and create a log cabin style set for Christmas, they may surprise us yet... then again!

Plus was it only me that got a pre recorded sense yesturday? I don't know why, but some bits seemed a bit pre recorded and if anyone noticed on last Saturday's MoM at the end Michael put a lot of effort into the dance and was almost shedding a tear.

As for the show, it was ok, a few good bits, and a few not so good bits but it was ok. It just needs to be kept fresh, and that's what they're not doing, they're letting every idea go stale, or as I call it the Wonkey Donkey Syndrome.

As for Michael, i'm sure we will see him with Jungle Run in September and maybe Eliminator in the new year, and maybe the kind people at CiTV may give him his old job back, if he wants it, and that wouldn't be bad either. But that's if they go back in vision which should be the way, but they can't be bothered or have ITV giving them orders!

I'm surprised that they haven't done anything this week, especially as all of this week CiTV is on in the afternoons, but CBBC isn't (I don't know why everything ended on friday but it did!), and with Christmas Specials and a few Christmas games they could have surely boosted their audience!

I didn't say it was a good thing but it could happen.Anyway the new presenters might debut on New years day.And hopefully they'll get a new time[they might keep the Christmas Day time]!
