I've realised, yesterday was exactally a year since I taped the first of the last 3 eps of SM:TV I have on tape. A year. Ouch! Where does the time go?

Is the christmas ident on CiTV yet?

Yes CiTV are now using Christmas Presentation, which is basically stop frame animations of mice running around and then winding something that says how many days are left till Christmas, not that great, and with no music, but I wasn't expecting much.

The trailers for Christmas programmes are quite good using that rock version of Jingle Bells that everyone uses and have a lovely logo at the end embedded in snow, though I don't get why they're not using something along this line and instead opting for mice, and I also don't know why mice are being used for Christmas!

This year has flown by, it's not always a good thing, I'm sure my mind is subconciously thinking that it's the summer!

In less than a month it will be the Ministry's 1st Birthday, and what a year they've had!

I've just finished watching the titles from the first show from TV History whilst reading that!. Laughing I actually prefer the theme with the word "of" missing but the current version is good also.

Will they do anything special on the week that the first show aired last year? (speaking in 2005 mode) It'll be great if they do!.

I saw the christmas idents on tuesday. If they're going to have animals with the logo on,why can't it be a polar bear,a reindeer and other animals? They could all have the old background music with sleigh bells and the logo could fly onto the animals then fading into that snow logo on the trailer. The end ident could have all the animals with the logo on and it would fill the screen and bounce back to the trailer logo.
It would say whatever days to go and goodbye.Maybe even Christmas is Magic!

Yes, the show began being píss poor, then they made improvements and things looked promising, then they went back to being píss-poor again.

By this point in SM:TVs life they'd tweaked and kept making efforts to improve the show, and managed to be top of the ratings (and were only a couple of weeks away from launching the new set and the format that ran for the next 4 years). MoM made some efforts to improve the show, culminating in the July relaunch. Sadly, they just seemed to run out of ideasa couple of months later and the show's slipped into mediocrity again. They just don't seem to be making any effort at all. I'm hoping that they're holding some ideas to introduce after Xmas, but I doubt it. At least they got rid of Spelling Smackdown though........

Well CITV seems to change their look every 6 months lately which makes time fly even faster. This time last year we hadn't even seen Andy and Laura yet, and now of course they are well gone.

The CITV trailers are very similar to last xmas really, with general older kids and younger kids promos showcasing the line up

I'm sure that the little CiTV trailer uses the same music (it is nice though), except different clips and different words (I would say lyrics, but they're spoken).

It's a shame that Laura's gone, why they just couldn't have tried for their last few months at Birmingham is beyond me.

Even the voiceover bloke has been seen doing the MPAA News reports, well it sounds like him (with one of his accents), and seeing the one using the Birmingham Reception struck a cord as to why if they had no studio they just couldn't do T4 1999/2000 idea of just using the building, or just the reception area like Central News did during the summer.

Plus they also have the other studio at their disposle, the studio that will become Central News East's studio when they move, just a few weeks of Christmas Contuniuity would have been nice to end CiTV at Birmingham!

I'd say the best host within this past year was Gail McKenna even though she was only guest hosting, what a shame.

Who needs teenagers when older more experienced presenters do it better. Look at Gail, Gareth and Fred on How 2, they just go in and have fun in a professional and tremendously entertaining way.

Anyway back to CiTV, it will be interesting to see what comes out of moving to Manchester, especially if the graphics team move up or not, hopefully the whole team will, and hopefully they will go live again, but perhaps they can't be bothered or ITV don't want them too!

Funny you should say that, here's the first of my CITV 2003 Xmas sound files, a 3.15pm start up from Thursday 18th December 2003...
