Well, I know about virtual dub. It's been an invaluable tool to me for a lot of editing I've been doing (though I've only really been using it as an ARC, but that's hugely important for mixing aspect ratios together).

On one of my projects based around Christmas, I've gone through the last 3 SM:TVs to find a few clips (only got 6 in the end though). I haven't watched them in a few months, but seeing them has really shown me how dull Saturdays have got over the last 11 months. I think there really are so many lessons that MoM could learn from SM:TV that they could use to make the show more enjoyble. they could put a lot more into the show, make the guests more a part of the show, get some sketches (with better ideas than ButHaven and "The Wizard"), more games, have the audience somewhere better than tiered seating. Even CD:UK seems to have slided downhill over the last few months (and why is their MoM rundown so bland? SM:TVs had video clips & a music vid at the end- MoM's is just panning accross still photos). I don't know what it is with CD:UK, but it even seems to have last something this year. Both shows need to brighten themselves up again. Even I'm starting to lose interest, they can put a lot more effort in than they currenty are.

Don't mean to be rude tvguy, but sometimes (well, most of the time actually) you can waffle total nonsense.

Yes, I wonder what tvguy is going on about a lot of the time as well. It's all very confusing.

One other thing I think from watching SM:TV yesterday- we need Des back! Where's he disappeared to?

I actually think CD:UK has been at its very best since September - great live guests, great new sets every week and a fantastic presenter - the only thing that has changed is no Ant and Dec, and we can't change that can we?! Laughing

Des was brilliant I thought - he quit his Scotland Radio slot earlier this year and is now trawling the comedy circuit again. Hope that helps! Laughing

I'm glad this threads getting back on topic.

As I've been moaning about for the past few months MoM does need a serious looking at.

As I stated in a previous post, it's as though since Dick & Dom's been back they haven't been bothered to do anything spectacular, where as back in May/June time they had items like the post room, and the agent initiation test that help the show to move along.

The amount of ideas that anyone could come up with to fill a show would mean that most of the programmes would have to go, so why are they plodding along.

Some of the parts are great, mainly the lab and Cakey Sk8 when they have good guests who want a good cake fight, where as others seem to be there just to fill time.

What do you mean "what have I found"? The only editions of SM:TV I have on video are the last three, and there's not that much to find (the project I'm working on had nothing to do with SM:TV anyway, I'm just using some clips). I would like more episodes on video (with proepr studio bits & sketches, rather than the Gold format), but it's not likely. They should put together some sort of "Best of SM:TV" DVD, maybe more than one volume so they could put more in (the Best Of Video seemed too rushed- and there was virtually nothing from the first year).

He needs to be doing something on TV! He was perfectly suited to SM:TV, but the unfortunbate axing mant that was cut short. I hope he pops up somewhere soon. Put him on MoM! He'd brighten it up straight away.
