I agree there about the opening it was the worst opening i've seen too. They really need to get over this "no titles" thing, the saturday show isnt here any more (until april time anyway), the new producer seriously needs to sort the main opening sequence out, I really hope they do get a proper set of titles before or in the new year.
No doctor this week, has he been told off for last weeks innunendo?.
Also can someone capture this mornings opening sequence for me? I thought i did record the opening but this weeks episode starts off from UFO for some strange reason.
I think the titles / opening sequence have got shorter and worse. I was looking at the titles I captured 2/3 months a go from just after the new set etc. and atleast you had a reasonable amount of the song, and the presenters had there own individual raised platforms to 'sing' and dance on.
I don't particularly like the 'Coming up' stuff being right at the start of the programme, as it then restricts what they do in the opening sequence. If they are insisting on not using a proper title sequence then they could atleast improve on the openings.
As of recently they seem to go from the opening sequence, into a quick plug for the phone in competition, straight into a cartoon. It doesn't really feel right, I prefered it when something of interest happened before going into the cartoon eg. 'fingers on knees' thing, or the Doctor's 'All blown up'.
Indeed the opening did seem even poorer than usual this week. Talking about lack of titles and the coming up bit appearing straight away, maybe focus groups have shown that that's what people want? Because SM:TV did that towards the end as well didn't they.
Talking about this week's show, I had a bad feeling when I noticed the lack of the Doctor but I think Bradley Walsh's appearance covered it nicely. Liked the way he was winding up "The Wizard" throughout the whole show.
The Doctor had the week of Steve Coogan off, and now Bradley Walsh, perhaps he takes weeks off when comedians appear, as though he isn't as talented as them.
As for the start of the show it was very wierd with them doing the old post menu part of the song, and that was it.
Why they don't just bring back the titles is a mystery. Or if they didn't want to bring back the old titles, make up new ones where Stephen got the same clothes on, Holly smashes up her alarm clock, Michael's brain in a jar (Futurama style-ie) talks to him, and thene have something happen. Quite simple, maybe even have them all large running around a city, or growing, shrinking, and being all MAYHEM, thus the name of the programme.
I don't get the quick link into a programme, it's happened since they introduced Pet Alien along with MPAA and Drake & Josh. Personally I'd like to see more studio stuff than programmes. Was Atomic Betty (the new show today, even though last week it said that MPAA would be on) two episodes or just one?
Surely it would make sense to have one of each Pet Alien and Atomic Betty and then Drake & Josh.
The show content was ok, it could have been a lot stronger, but it was it's usual.
I still prefer the pre revamp as I prefered the set, they had more characters, they had more rooms, therefore sets to use, they actually had titles, they had items like the Agent initiation, and everybody danced, and did the dance well, even the presenters don't do it now!
Though it seems strange that they were putting so much effort into it when The Saturday Show was on, and now Dick & Dom's back it's as though they know they can't win, and therefore can't be bothered!
Some Christmas CITV Highlights from today's sunday papers. Remember schedules are still subject to change.
The 2 part brand new My Parents are Aliens Christmas Special is billed as showing on Monday and Tuesday 20/21st December at 4.30pm. Also according to the MPAA forum, it will be repeated as part of the Ministry of Mayhem on Christmas Day. A good way to fill 45 minutes on an obviously pre-recorded show.
The Busted Christmas Special is scheduled for Thursday 23rd December at 4pm. Presumably a repeat of last years, they can't possibly have made a new one considering the quality of acting. Bit strange to repeat it what with faces of 2003 Brian Capron and Pete Waterman being in it, and the fact that all the musical numbers will be ones from last year.
CITV moves to 9.25 from Christmas Eve for the rest of christmas. Showing repeats of Best Friends and then a kids film by the looks of it.

Please upload them! I don't know if they'll have made titles but if pigs fly, titles could come next week. Then on 11th they can start the christmas titles. But how long do saturday morning shows have christmas titles for?

It does seem strange to air the Busted Christmas Special, again! Surely they could have taken another band, they could have even used Mcfly in the same way. But then again CBBC are repeating their Sleeping Beauty Uncovered programme from last year. Perhaps no one has any new ideas!
This Autumn has been filled with short series, a long MPAA series, and MoM showing everything new to CiTV, so I'm not surprised over the MPAA Christmas Specials on MoM. Hopefully though they won't put Drake & Josh or anything else in there as well.
With SM:tv I would have expected Christmas Sketches, a Christmas song or two and maybe a christmas game, but with MoM we may get a bit of tinsel on the Cakey Sk8 board.
I've also noticed in the early listings that CiTV has it's usual Christmas outing overnight at around 5am (due to only a 5 minute Morning News). It may be branded, it may not be, it would be nice if it was, but who knows!
If you want to add captions and other impressive looking stuff, then VirtualDub won't do it.
But if you just want to chop the padding out of a clip (anything non-related for example) then that classifies as "editing" and VirtualDub will do that.
