Don't get Old Cynic reading that otherwise it might bring on another 7 pages on why it's gonna affect the kids into getting them saying things they shouldn't at a young age!

You're right there!. I've read that topic and i dont know what all the fuss is about really!.

I'm sure if they were still doing those items now you'd be saying they were tired items exactly the same every week.

And talking about the old set, didn't people criticise that at the time. Saying that the little calm rooms were not in the spirit of mayhem. There would be a cake fight and then they would duck into a little room away from all the audience and mayhem.

The performance stage was also very poor in the old set, plus all the unused doors on the second level, and the lift that wasn't used anymore, and the area where the twins sat. It needed changing really as it was full of defunct items.

I don't think I ever criticised the old set.
Though I do agree with you that areas were un used, but I don't understand why everything had to go, and why it went so dark and metalic.

They could of got rid of the doors on the second level altogether and could of made space where the twins used to be and it could of been used as extra set space for sketches depending on how wide the landing of the balcony was .

Or could have kept the shell of the set, i.e. the walls, sofa's etc, and built in the new lab, added a new entrance (I couldn't understand why the old entrance was half way up the wall, though I liked the way it was originally used as a rear projection screen!) add a balconey all the way around, perhaps add the sofa on a platform sort of half the size of the full balconey (maybe use the underneath as Ray's room), maybe even build another big-ish room under the balconey on the other side, that could be used for many things, and have the perfomances in the centre where they'd also have sketch set's built in (during programmes), etc.

And also have the extra's dressed as ministry workers for the start (and bring back the titles so they don't have to do random movements until the end!!).

Found an old edition of TSS from 2003. The ending had Ferne and Simon doing a voice over the closing credits telling you about the best bits of the show with random images of past shows or the week's show.

Would something like that work on M.O.M? I dont see the point of singing after the thank-you desk!, bring back the original ending!

I liked the way that they did that, it was very Live & Kicking (as 2001-02 had Stamford Amp playing), but as they did with Live & Kicking 2001, Scotland dropped it and finished the show with TOTP Saturday, though the London way of producing it was better, ending TOTP Sat with the menu for next week's TSS, then they'd be back on the sofa, and then link nicely for Sara to start on the CBBC Channel and wander over to the guests.

Anyway. Never thought about it for MoM. Doubt it would work with their theme tune though.
And it was always nice to end with the full dance and gunge tank!
They could always try it though.
I've never understood why they don't have the credits during the last chorus, if they had the words in the first one.

The original ending on M.O.M was better because they could challenge the guest(s) in the gunge tank and gunge them if they did it wrong, and not get gunged if they get it right.

If i can remember correctly one guest did get their challenge right on M.O.M and they still got gunged because they gunged the guest next to them in the other gunge tank from what i can remember, it was one of the first episodes i watched before i started to tape it, can you help me out there fanoftv? Dont know the exact date but it was around feburary time.

I could most probably find it. But it may take a few years, the amount of tapes I have, lol
Though theye've gunged a few that have got it right.
On the first show, they didn't even have the tank ready, so it was Holly that got squirted by the ministry agents, so to speak, and then slipped over in the last dance.
I still don't like the thankyou desk, I think I'd much prefer that after the gungetank, everyone grabs buckets of water and gunge, and water pistols and the foam cans, and they have explosions of confetti at the end so that everyone looks a mess.

Part of me thinks that they stopped the gunge tank over complaints over James being gunged, no celeb wanting to and/or they were sick of Holly, Stephen and Michael having it.
I quite liked the idea of the gunge vote!

They could have the thankyou desk, then the lyrics and gunge tank, then the next week preview, and a bucket of icing could get put over everyone's head and it would get tipped over. It's a lot but they could try it!

Anyway where was the new ITV1 ident yesterday?
I'd like to have the CiTV boing ident but with the January Ministry startup.

So, what did everyone think of this weeks MOM? without Stephen?

I thought that the Doctor was so funny "Im not even allowed to smoke fags" made me laugh so much. The Inuendo has obviously started up again, I just hope Ofcom wasn't watching.
Alot more going on but I can't be bothered to wrie it does.

Anyway, this weeks MOM: 9/10 (mostly due to the doc)

Excluding the doctor and his gentleman's hair net I was expecting great things from yesterday's show and instead all we got was a fairly standard show.

Firstly there was of course no Mulhern, who in my opinion is the best presenter and often carrys the show, so it was off on the wrong footing from the start. Holly in the Doctor's lab just seemed strange.

Secondly all the guests didn't really do anything special, there was a fairly average Cakey Sk8 and Double Trouble but no special stand alone one off items that they often have like ripping newspaper in half with whips or putting your hand in a fish tank. The guys from Harry Potter were fairly dull and even McFly seemed out of it, although they probably were what with them being on CiN in Hull 12 hours previously. I've seen much better

Overall rating, excluding the Doctor, 5/10 could have been much better.
