A children's program should not have the sexual inuendo content that is to be found in several sections on Ministry of Mayhem. Where is the need for this? I can't stand the state of children's television at the moment.

I actually think that's one of the only things that is keeping MoM going at the moment to be honest - cheeky humour is a must for Saturday Mornings imo!

If you like the nice and wholeshome shows like Blue Peter (yay! lets make stuff!), then fair enough...each to their own. Laughing

Ignore him I think he's a troll.

Anyway as I always say good guests often make a good show. Well tommorow there's none of that as they've got Geri on. I wonder if she'll play Cakey Sk8 and get caked? I bet she won't!

Remember all new My Parents are Aliens starts on Monday at 4.30 on CITV, although technically the first two weeks are repeats!

The target audience of MoM shouldn't understand that type of humour. I don't know what's more wrong - showing it, or knowing they probably DO understand it. And Blue Peter? That's just as bad. Why do we have to be shouted at all the time - can't people just tell us things without shouting?
Does it scare you now that you know I'm like that and probably a troll if I tell you I like My Parents Are Aliens Twisted Evil

I couldn't decide where to put this so I assumed this would be the most appropriate place for it, but anyway. I tuned into the Disney Channel for the first time in a while this evening (I'd been suffering from Home Improvement withdrawal symptoms) and noticed a few changes in their continuity.

They seem to have de-standardised the now/next/back soon/welcome back slides during the evenings now, and they seem to just be picking random ones to play out each time.

Also, they seem to have proper announcements into the programmes in the evenings now. I remember earlier this year they had the young woman (the only announcer to survive the wipeout in April 2003) doing some live-sounding (though most likely pre-recorded) announcements into the evening programmes, but now they've got a different woman and a bloke doing the announcements *together*, which is rather unusual. I would imagine that these two are presenters on the Capital Disney radio station, and that they are pre-recording these announcements earlier in the day, no?

It'll also be interesting to see what they do for Christmas. They didn't use "proper" idents last Christmas (which happened to be the first Christmas since the April 2003 global relaunch), opting for Monsters Inc. themed idents instead, so perhaps we'll see something more generic this year. But then again, the global idents (which don't seem to be used much at all in the UK as they just use the now/next slides here) are rather crap anyway, so I'm not expecting anything wonderous. It's a shame that they had to get rid of the previous Mickey Sillhouette idents, as they were rather fab, and even my little sister "noticed" them (and we know what non-pres fans are like when it comes to idents!)

I did'nt catch MoM this morning (I never do to be honest!), but I did manage to see they had a new endcap - "A Granada & Foundation co-production"

I'm sure you all know more about this than me Laughing

Yep they have had a few changes, with former Studio Disney presenter and now man who does the lottery bits James McCourt (brother of Richard 'Dick' McCourt), and Shelly who's been there for years do the announcements together.
He did it with another women over a holiday this year, and it seemed to have been bought back. The first notice was for the halloween weekend.

For the Halloween weekend each programme used the same ident, but at least it was an ident, it involved the view flying through a grave yard, down a spooky tunnel and then ending up at the wall with the Disney Channel logo on it.

So I think that we may get something this year to do with this.
Last year they didn't even bother really as the Monsterous Christmas idents only played out at night, and were awful.

With two announcements I'm thinking that they may introduce some of their own idents in, I'm not sure if the Halloween one was produced for Disney UK, or if it was American, but it was better than the now and next.

I presume that the global idents are the ones with the firefly, the boy with the glow stick and the girl washing her dog which are awful, no wonder they don't use them!

If this year's Christmas Movie trailer (that's airing now with a wonderful soundtrack), is anything to go by, it should be lovely (it ends with a Christmas Tree in the Disney Channel logo).
Plus we've got to see what Studio Disney will do with their new theme tune (well not new anymore, but the first christmas that it's been used), and see how they will adapt the white stripes inspired titles to suit christmas.

Here's my thoughts on this week's Ministry of Mayhem which is now "A Co-Production between Granada and The Foundation"

Geri was more fun than I expected. There was an unscheduled appearance from the Noise Next Door, they still didn't do their version of the theme!
The Doctor was particularly good. "This week I've been concentrating on guys" and "Would you like to spend a penny on my guy Stephen". Then there was that explosive experiment.
Race Ray was back "it's a DVD" and then a caller thought the UFO was a Dragon!
Next week they've got Girl's Aloud on and the following week McFly again.

MoM seem to be obesessed with McFly for some reason, they're the only band to appear on MoM more than 5 times since MoM started!. The doc was good as always, noticed a little ad-lib between him and stephen when the doctor asked him about the panto mime. It was a good show this week, but there's no gunge tank still at the end!.

When I talk about 'global', I'm referring to the fact that in April 2003, Disney forced the same graphics/idents package on every single one of its Disney Channels around the world. Disney UK seemingly saw this as an excuse to cut costs and laid off the two older continuity announcers (a man and a woman, who were generally only heard after 7pm), and henceforth use only the now/next slides with pre-recorded announcements (up until recently) before programmes. They seem to have retained a select few "proper" idents (i.e. Firefly, Glowstick, Dogwash) from the package for use at times when the now/next slides can't be used (or, rather oddly, as break-fillers).

Surely it's a bit of a wink to the parents, after all that's what SM:tv aimed to do, without being offencive. Perfect Saturday morning shows should appeal to both parents and kids IMO

Right, now this weeks MOM.

For starters, I don't like that they have recorded michael saying "All that and much more right here in the M.O.M" because it just looks stupid with him miming, you can tell straight away.
Plus, they now have THREE shows, even though Pet Alien is short it takes up presenting time, when you take out the ads AND the two programmes it is short enough let-alone another 15min show!
I do really like the UFO game now, especially because Stephen takes the p*ss out o some stupid answers (e:g Dragon) which is funny.
Also, I see they have brought back 'Race Ray' which is quite good, thought they dropped it since it wan't on last week but glad they haven't. It was obvious that Ray would have won it he wouldn't have dropped the DVD Player ("Its a DVD").
Cakey sk8 was as boring as ever this week. Even though Geri was quite a good guest (caking stpehen) no body else caked each other so there wasn't much mayhem. Howver, I like it that they brought someone from the audience to take part but Stephen said they had no other guest, why not a member from The Noise Next Door? (who done crap all).
Finally, the Doctor was as good as ever, he made me lmao when he said "would you like to spend a penny on my guy, stephen" but I think he was told to calm down a bit now as he is not as "naughty" as he was, if you get my drift.

Anyway, good weeks MOM this week i think about an 8/10.
