One thing I think is a shame is that the trialer for Barking didn't have the film effect and I thought tat maybe just for once, the producers of this programme had realised that you don't need to use it all over the place and a show can look just as good if it's on video (In some cases, better. the last 3 series of Byker Grove have looked horrible) . Sadly though, the show itself does have the film effect, and the trailer must have been made before the show was completed.

Let's try another way. The BBC had the same formula for about 25 years, the rot began to set in when Andi and Emma left Live and Kicking in 1996. It became fully rotten by the time Zoe and Jamie left the same show in 1999. But the BBC thoguht they could turn out the same show on the same ideas with different presenters.
So by 2001, the majority of their viewers moved to SM:TV. The same happened to SM:TV albeit in a smaller timescale. The format that was once good was becoming stale and it didn't matter which new presenters they tried. It appeared they were floggin an old horse but in their heads they thought they were still good as the Ant and Dec days.
The BBC had the balls to move on and try something new and by the time Dick 'N' Dom started, they had the balls (albeit it was something that has already been on the CBBC Channel) to try a different format in the Saturday Morning slot. Probably the first autumn/winter show on the Beeb that doesn't use celebs.
I'm glad ITV moved on from SM:TV and is trying something new and even if MoM doesn't work out then ITV will try out a new show, they will not be going back to SM:TV. Put it this way, the BBC led the way on Saturday Morning for a couple of days and you think about the different shows ITV had from No.73 and Motormouth. ITV didn't think to themselves, "Christ... we better get Tiswas back"

Holiday over, back into the saddle.
I know it's a week ago, but a great MoM! I can't be bothered to go into details of why, but it was a good show, still trying to find it's feet though.
I think that they went out of the first look (studio, titles and set) too quickly, when they could have got a lot more use out of them, and the studio seemed massive in comparison.
I'll be glad when the new series of MPAA comes on CiTV as I'm sick of the trailers after a week.
And may I add that even though I thought that 'Barking!' would be rubbish, I actually liked it! Good acting, wierd puppet, but it works, and it's a nice bit of comedy! Not such a fan of Help, I'm a Teenage Outlaw though.

Today's MoM was quite good, the doctor was on top form as always, for a moment i thought that second flame the doctor made with the jelly babies was going to explode on to the set!.
Was the doctors book "Something in german at the top, Its totally fact" was that specially made for todays show? or was it an actual book that he's written?. Its about time MoM started to have some merchantdise!
No gunge tank again! has Stephen taken them home with him? I prefer the original ending rather than the thank-you desk!.
