The theme tune's still there after the spinning o goes on to the logo and the ministry's there. So they could have sleigh bells on the pre-theme tune and have snow on the logo and the proper theme tune could be:
Woke up,same clothes as last night or the night before
Smashed up,my alarm clock and it snowing on my bedroom floor!
Get up!
Join in!
It's time to pump up the volume
Wake up it's the ministry of mayhem [ministry of mayhem]
Reindeers flying,mince pie-eating
We hear sleigh bells ring
SO...
Wake up it's the ministry of mayhem

It would be a nice idea. Or how about a Sunday Morning programme?
CBBC do it on BBC Two, and Dick & Dom have their show on a Sunday, if ITV commissioned it, there would be no problem to have one

It could still be called SM:TV if they did that as well! As I said though, the mian problem with that is that ITV run the Coca Cola chapionship football most sundays meaning it could only run until 10:30.

The school holiday idea is still the best and while ITV probbally haven't considered it, maybe a chance reading of this post by an ITV exec could spark an idea. When I was younger I always found school holidays bland as they were just extended slots of the normal stuff. The fact that niether BBC or ITV have come up with anything like this for half terms to date still suprises me. The nearest we got was in June 2002 when SM:TV was moved to Monday because of the world cup.

And there's stillhope on Saturday Mornings. If MoM still isn't reaching expectations by mid-2005, ITV will need a new show. If not SM:TV, they could still get blaze to come up with a similar format under a different guise (but still keep it as close as possible- even a similar set). With Nick rumoured to be taking over the CITV slot, and Nick being rumoured to have comissioned Blaze to make them an SM:TV-like show, this seems quite likely. Relaunching the show in a different guise would be the next best thing to the big relaunch SM:TV should have been given.

Whatever, I still say we need Des back!

I wonder if they ever would bring back SM:TV if they had enough "demand". Not as in having loads of emails asking them, but demand as in knowing the public still want the show.

Des was a great host. It's a shame that he never took over from Michael for CiTV afternoons! It could have been great with someone of his standard!
I think the closet to a daily live programme was the summer CBBC programme X Change - which they've now dropped since it's now on twice daily on the CBBC channel.

The holiday morning thing may work, but CITV don't get a slot unfortunately nowadays with ITV repeating daytime programmes in the morning. It may even get more viewers as more kids would watch in the morning that adults over the summer, as the adults are looking after the children!

Has anyone else noticed the 'Nick Pick' thing on Nickelodeon. The idea is that each week they're showing people, and they want the audience to pick their favourite presenter.

My guess is that they may push Nigel, Yolly and Aidan up to ITV1 if they do get the deal to produce the slot, or maybe two of them, whilst the other stays with new presenters.

I'm still not sure why they're still off air as in there's no live content. Perhaps Yolly, Aidan and Nigel have all walked out! Though it may be something to do with them moving to Leicester Square, as the initial press release stated that there will be studios for MTV and Nick.

CITV definitely needs Des back. The show isnt as good as it once was. I still remember when Ant and Dec hosted SMTV on a saturday morning, those were the days lol!

But yeah, MoM isnt bad, but a new program is needed on ITV to keep up the competition!

This isn't new, they've been doing this since the dawn of time, the last time they did a proper CITV sorry Childrens ITV in the morning especially over the Summer break was in 1990 I believe. But anyway ITV stations never really bothered about Summer, Easter or any of the school breaks, for most regions it usually went...

9.25am Quiz show or Cartoon
9.55am News Summary
10.00am A Crap quiz, Judge Judy or James Bond Junior (which was always shown on Granada)
10.30am A Boring B Movie!

The only time they have CITV on during the school breaks is at Christmas, but remember there's no afternoon slot over Christmas as there are more people watching TV in the afternoon, ie the slot being more valuable than what it would be for the rest of the year.

As I said this is nothing new ITV have been doing this for God knows how long.

They could move it to 11am-1pm but i don't think they'd do 2 hours so it would probably be 11.30-12.30.

I remember holiday mornings and days off school with "If you're in the supermarket and you hear the beep....". Certinally an SM:TV like show would be much better than the sort of daytime pap they pump out. In fact, so would a blank screen.

Ahh yes, Supermarket Sweep, for me I always remember Crosswits and Win, Lose or Draw being at the helm of 9.25am, brilliant stuff, now it's just 'Good Morning this is ITV1 now Trisha......'

I remember a few years ago over the Christmas break when CiTV was on in the morning it started at 9.35am because they showed an ITN News Summary at 9.25am and Regional News at 9.30am, now they have never done that since.

Days off school meant Going For Gold for me!

Though school breaks were never really controlled by CiTV, they usually had been controlled by normal ITV or whoever conducted the ITV schedule at the time or it could have been up to the ITV station that you watched, though it was normal ITV, no exceptions or anything. Then again this was the same with the kids programmes that used to go out at lunchtime until the early 1990's.

Though it has come to me since the last post I made earlier was that in the 1990's there were plenty of kids shows on Channel 4, as they usually filled the gap of where schools programmes went, now I don't know if this was passed on from ITV to Channel 4 after Schools were switched. Though there were times when both ITV and C4 has kids programmes at the same time.

I remember Summer Mornings as it was called with Glen, and then later just with a continuity announcer over the animations.

My favorite summer mornings show was Ox Tales btw!

They have CiTV on during the mornings of Christmas and Easter week, it seems ideal for ITV to go with mornings as GMTV used to at this time and with it being like a weekend they can get more viewers in the morning than in the afternoon.

I don't understand why they don't have a summer morning service any more, even CBBC have stopped going to any effort and ending at 10 for CBeebies, when the real way it should be done is to have CBeebies on 6-8, and CBBC after 8-11 or 8-12. They're on BBC Two anyway!

Saying that they only have morning shows during Christmas & Easter, last October half term CiTV aired every morning for an hour from 9:25-10:25 (followed by Trisha and a This Morning recorded hour long show), and featured Star followed by Seriously Wierd, two great shows that were nice together (though no continuity, just idents), and a nice break for kids and adults too, and it was nice to have a quick feel to this morning, like a This Morning Bites.
