I was going through my old tapes recently and I have a cock up on Nickelodeon from about 1997/8 in which Pingu wasn't ready and there was a VT clock for 30 seconds on screen. More importantly there was CBBC Nickeloden DOG on screen which was which ever orange blob they decided to use for the DOG that day and the letters CBBC in the blocks they use for the current BBC logo.

I remember CBBC on Nick now. When I used to catch it, it was on from 9-10 am and 2:30-3:30pm, wrapping around Nick Jr.

It used to have Otis the Aardvark presenting, in between what would now be regarded as cbeebies shows. the idents that were used were some adapted Yellow ones, but they were only on at the start and end of the show. The DOG also changed to say "CBBC on Nickelodeon"

How many posts in a row??

Anyway, whilst visiting websites I came across TV History. And within it's weekender section here they have the Ministry of Mayhem titles from the Very first show, back on January 10th 2004.

It contains the full, and yes, that's full titles before anyone started to edit them down, and the full, yes full verse within the music.
Plus it's original music where it sounds like Ministry Mayhem, before they re recorded to add the 'OF'.

For the second show the music had the full verse still, yet the verse was sung by someone different making it sound American (very strange).

Plus within this you get to see the lovely big bright set (that I believe still had potential, and looked more saturday mornings, and massive!), with many characters, including random kids and crew members dressed up, plus the twins in their original costumes and wigs!
And it's before the menu started to appear within the music (this came from ep 2), and so therefore has 5, yes 5 'Na, na, na. Na, na, na hhhho's.

It was a lot better as they panned to many cameras, and because there were alot of people dancing it was nicer than everyone doing their own thing (as Stephen, Michael & Holly did for ep 2, though it did involve Stephen in a very energetic spin and a high leg kick, so it wasn't all bad!)

And if you do go and view it and wonder where the audience are, they are on the audience tier in the rear left corner of the studio.

I've been searching for the full theme on episode 2 for ages and had no luck....can anyone capture the theme from episode 2 and the ending?. TV Guy perhaps? I did send him a PM as i knew he had episode 2 but i didnt get a reply.

I wrote to The Foundation for the episodes i didnt tape and they replied saying that they do not have facilitys to copy tapes.

Anyway in paint i've done what i meant by having a presenter come up in front of a frozen ident:http://www.rp-networkservices.com/tvforum/uploads/new_citv_thing.jpg

So what's the idea? This is how they could do CiTV at the moment by having a presenter in front of a CSO?

It could work thinking about it. They wouldn't need to spend any more money as they have the person that's already providing the voice, and they already have a CSO set with a desk built up for Central News.

Central News could use their real set at 3pm, and CiTV could put anything onto the CSO, and could use the desk with a laptop for emails and texts to come in live like a radio station.

The camera's are stand alone I believe, so it could work, but i doubt that they currently want to due to their contract to provide CiTV being up soon!
It's a shame but I can see their point!

Well maybe citv won't be replaced by/have it's name changed to iNK .
It probably will be handed over to nick but citv could still be citv.

Indeed they could keep the name (which I'm hoping), as it's a well known British strand and has been for coming up to 22 years!
Though by the sounds of it production of the strand is definately to leave Central, thus why they can't be bothered!

I think citv was good this weekend anyway.Don't know if it was just one of my TV's or a ITV1 thing but something went wrong with the preview.
And as soon as i switched it on on sunday citv started but something went wrong then aswell.[The picture frozen if anyone saw.]
And it was the last in the series of UP2U, but CiTV actually SHOWN IT!
I thought they'd either have a song with clips of the series or no clips of the series, but those clips of the series with no music were good, even though i wanted it to be over the end credits.

There was a 3 week gap between the next to last episode and the last episode though, I did think they were going to forget about it like last year!
October 3rd is a bit late for a summer series to end as well.

I agree that a big push would have been great for the show.
I dont think that they should have relaunched in March (and those titles did nothing to help them!). They should have discussed things, perhaps have the summer off.

I'm not a fan of them getting rid of something if there's still life.
One of the options that they could have taken was to end it in May, to have a new show (possibly MoM) come in and do a few months over the summer, and then if they can't get anything to work, they would have still had SM:tv to correct.

I think that Des & Stephen got on really well, elements like Ghost Busted gave the show something that there hadn't been for a while.

Fully aggree with everything you said. SM:TV had life in it, and giving it shake up (like they did in 1999) would have been much better than jsut axing it. The 2003 relaunch didn't help matters at all. Like james2001, I think splitting thw two shows accross the year would have been a better idea. ITV could still do this, and I think they should have rather than comission MoM into 2005 fully, but have it run from January-June instead.

Whatever the case, I am still pining after SM:TV and would do ANYTHING to have it back. ITV could try it as either an Sat Evening show, or use it for School Holidays (SE or SH:TV??). if not bring it back for Sat mornings- bring the format back for something else instead! Even use the SM:TV set and let us see Des again!

Yes, that's a very good idea. While it's unlikely SM:TV will return to Saturdays, the Saturday Evening or School Holiday (I think the School Holiday is more likely) idea is very good indeed, I wonder if ITV have thought of it (in fact, ITV should be signing CITV over to Blaze rater than Nick. Blaze would do a very good job.). I think this could be a very good idea. What does everyone else think? Though what should it be called?
