I hope they keep all the citv shows and i've got an idea for a sting:
An annoyed kid could say "oh,i've ran out of [logo pops up] ink." then the logo could fly off and a background could fade in when it stops.

The no is for the fact that we may lose the CiTV name.
I don't agree with this. What's next? ABC1 take over prime time?
I wouldn't mind if it was a merger of Nickelodeon UK and CiTV, rather than Nick just producing the ITV slot. Though if they can pull off something like Nick L8R then it may be good.

I think it'll be good for the children's strand on ITV, for the simple reason that Nickelodeon is probably done on a tighter budget than CiTV is at present and doesn't show signs of being underfunded (indeed they aren't underfunded since they can afford to run at least three channels at the same time and essentially all of them broadcast 24/7).

It does explain why Birmingham isn't putting in any effort though.
The name of 'INK' does work, and would create a great logo like this mock up of mine (yeah I really am that bored!).

Yuck. No offence but I hope you never work in graphics design in television for I reckon you'd give a channel/strand a talking point for all the wrong reasons.

Plus we will see the increase (YET AGAIN) as it was just disapearing of endless Nickelodeon shows!

Um, most of Nickelodeon UK's "shows" are made by their american cousins (as they'd say) - essentially making Nick UK a relay channel of Nickelodeon in America with the drivel filtered out and other stuff thrown in. The only real stuff Nick UK made of any real interest was the Renford Rejects and Nick News, both ventures which now rarely air. Everything else has already been on CiTV/CBBC or has come from elsewhere in America, such as Sabrina.

Hopefully they won't and will also recommission CiTV favourites like Finger Tips, Art Attack, Jungle Run, Big Bang, Worst Witch, etc. that can also be used on Nickelodeon channels.

There is nothing to stop Nickelodeon or anybody else buying transmission rights for these programmes first thing Monday morning because they're not owned by CiTV, any of them - they just commissioned them and have first rights to broadcast them. Which explains why archive Art Attack is on Disney, Worst Witch is on Nick and old Children's ITV programme Knightmare is now on Challenge.

But I would still prefer a rebrand of the Nickelodeon channels to 'INK', as then the whole brand would make sense, and they could advertise the former Nickelodeon channel. For example, they could do a Nick L8R style programme 3:30 - 5 on ITV1, and then continue the programme on Nickelodeon, that should also be known as INK.

Um, but Nickelodeon is (they claim) a tried and trusted name and considering how the name is pretty much global in the world of kids TV AND is over 20yrs old, it would be madness to rename a whole channel based on a 105min slot on a terrestrial network. And what do you do about Rugrats, Hey Arnold and stuff? Rebrand them too from NickTunes to INKTunes? INKTunes TV? INK+1? No, it'll never work.

If 'INK' (or whatever its called) launches on itv1 I do hope they will have presenters and broadcast in 4:3, as that way it avoids cropping of shows such as Sabrina.

If Nick were in charge, they probabally wood. It might be like the situation on GMTV at the moment- the GMTV sourced shows are all 16:9- 4:3 iscropped to 14:9 (unforgivable seeing as they were fully capable of aspect ratio switching before they went 16:9. It's not like t have the pres/DVE issues that CBBC & CITV supposedly have), but the disney-sourced output is 4:3.

I am very suprised that no-one has mentioned this....

Nickelodeon to take over ITV Kids?
Apparently they are on the verge of signing a contract to do so, presumably meaning that the contract with Central must be due up.

If Nickelodeon have any sense with comissioning it could do good for CiTV, which it may not be called.

CiTV is dead then. Crying or Very sad Sad

I did a survey asking kids from 7-13 "Do you like M.O.M?"

78% said No
2% said They don't know
and 20% said yes.

Yes, somebody said the same thing before and I answered it in the same fashion. Nick UK is only 11yrs old though - the original Nickelodeon in America launched in 1979 on April 1st.

I dunno why people find it so strange that Nickelodeon is over 20yrs old, nor do I understand why people find it hard to understand that Nick is as American as McDonalds. Apparently Nickelodeon "reaches a total of 282.6 million households in 162 territories worldwide via channels and branded program blocks".

http://www.nick.com/all_nick/everything_nick/intl_home.jhtml for that and everything else they do...

Yeah, they should be able to do wonders with the budget, but then again the majority of their programmes (being already made) won't cost that much to buy in, In fact, do networks like Nick, Disney & Cartoon Network have to pay to air programmes made by their American relations?

Why? Is it really that bad? I quite like it myself, it take the logos of both and brings them together.
Is it just the colours that you don't like? Or could you explain why you don't please, it would be helpful, thanks!

Wasn't there something going around about them having availability of CiTV's back catalogue. That's a good point, why isn't anything ever made for CiTV? It's like Art Attack is made by Media Merchants for SMG and yet made in maidstone! I can understand it with CBBC as so many programmes are made to CBBC Scotland, but it's very strange.

Nick Tunes, INK Tunes? Are they playing music now?
True about the Nickelodeon name, but then CiTV (or Children's ITV) is nearly 22 years old as a strand, even though not world wide, it's a well known strand within the UK.

Perhaps they should just stick with what they have, with CiTV staying as CiTV (I'd love to see what Nick could do with their current logo, though if they kept the name, they'd most probably totally change the image, though I hope not for a Nickelodeon fonted 'C' next to the ITV generic), and keep Nick as Nick.

Wasn't there talk that whoever they got to run the strand would carry a CiTV strand on their channel in return for them having use of CiTV's programmes.

Which would make sense, it would add a bigger profile to CiTV within a strand, perhaps a new breakfast show with Nick to replace 'You're Nicked!', and it would create a bigger selection of programmes for Nick to use including the new Worst Witch that has proved popular on Nick, and access to My Parents Are Aliens!

I think that this is the sensible option, for the time being anyway.

Perhaps, thinking about it, They could commission programmes for both CiTV and Nickelodeon yet they could use a production company/commissioning part of Nickelodeon/CiTV could be known as 'INK'.
Just like ITV use Granada as their production company, if you understand me.

Weren't nick rmoured to be launching their own SM:TV? Maybe this coulds herald the return of SM:TV to ITV if MoM ever fails. I'm still a bit upset over SM:TV ending. Even at its worst (bar the last few weeks after Brian & Tess left- they genuinly WERE awful. All they could manage was Ghost Busted & Sick Tricks), I hate to say it was better than MoM at its peak. Still I wonder if the reason why SM:TV was so bad over the last year or so is because the producers knew ITV were going to axe them no matter what, so they stopped putting effort in. It probabally could have bene better if they tried.

Whatever, I'm going to keep mentioning the return of SM:TV is MoM does not last past 2005. I still think if it does, SM:TV would be the best format to do it with, and if they get a good team, it would probabally be just as good as it was in 2002 (Obviously it would never be as good as Ant, Dec & Cat). It was certinally still good until early 2003, it just seemed like they stopped bothering when they knew ITV wanted them axed.

One thing I think MoM REALLY needs to ged rid of is the dance, It seems sillier and sillier every week and for anyone who wants to start watching the show and the first thing they see is peter cocks (The doctor) in rediculous glasses palying the drums and the presenters doing a silly song & dance routine, I can see them switcing straight to Dick & Dom.

But if SM:tv WAS brought back it could be the same thing again - axed...SM:tv Gold...Ant, Dec and Cat back for one last show together.

As much as I'd like it back, a part of me is wary Confused
