I can't see them using a studio that isn't owned by ITV plc, or constructing a new studio either. But it would be a good idea to move to maidstone, alot of CiTV shows have been made there in the past and many still are. They'd be able to have guests from the shows.

If they aren't going to have real presenters then maybe they should have somekind of cartoon character using the same system for Nelly Nut on the CBBC Channel, with voice recoginition to make the mouth move etc. The clever thing with that, he could appear anywear in the world and they wouldn't need any real studio space.

Interesting idea! They could try it to see what it reaction it gets.
I think one of the main reasons that they've gone out of vision (AGAIN!!!), is not only the studio, or lack of it, but the fact that the lack of time was becoming pointless to have links.

It's a shame, but they're commissioning or buying too many shows, or shows that are too long, like the flinstones last year, and fora the explorer this year.

It's nothing to do with too many adverts (though they do increase leading up to christmas), but the fact that they have too many programmes. If they just broadcasted programmes that they made themselves, then they would have enough room for suitable links, maybe even a game or two!

I think they need Steve Ryde and a friend high up in Carlton or Granada and someone with sense.

A friend to get them a good studio and budget, someone with sense to commission some really good, different things.

And finally Steve Ryde . The first thing he was there years in the gallery, and knew the shows inside out before becoming producer. He practically built up CiTV on-air from nothing to the interactive, fun, extactly correct for target age, singy phone tunes etc. which was great.
Does anyone know when he left? He coudn't do it now a he woudn't have the same knowledge as before as now he's the main man in the one of the most popular, highest rating CBBC programmes, but someone similar to him, possibly new to tv keen to try out new ideas would be ideal.

Having said all this, they may have a nice new studio tomorrow.

Well i bet if they don't, Swag and the rest will still be on the website for months. When i told my little sister who is 8 Swag was no more, she said oh how come and then did her own version of swag saying "Andrew"

Yes he always used to call him that even though he prefered Andy.
Swag was the best thing to come out of the last year so its a bit of a poor do if he's been axed, he should go and join Kevin Pamplin on Channel TV. (But then again the bloke who did the voice would have to go to Channel too of course!). Oh and Kevin won't be able to comment on the changes on CITV this week either!

I doubt they will have a studio. It would be nice, but doubt it. They may be saving one up for next week, but I doubt it.

I'd love to get my hands on CiTV links. It would be such a tough job through lack of time, but a fun one, and the presenters and links could change the audience, why don't they ever think of this?
Pokemon helped, but Ant, Dec & Cat bought the viewers to SM:tv Live!

It should be a show within itself. I think that's what Steve aimed for with CiTV Town, trying to make it a cartoon in itself, and then when he got Stephen & Dannielle on board, he could sit back and have some fun using them.
And they he built it up, and when he mangaed to get the big studio (I'm sure it took a lot of talking round) he could do many things, as he did. Interactive content was a biggey, more programmes were live, and it was compulsive viewing to some kids, even if they didn't like the programmes.

It got so big, the only other stage it could have gone to was to turn it into an entertainment show in itself featuring programmes, but Steve left. Things carried on, and Sid Cole tried his best, and it was working with Leah, Leigh, David & Michael. And then David & Leigh left to be replaced by Tim, who then went shall we say, then he relaunched last year with a bad set, bad graphics, and a weak theme tune, but a theme tune at least that was then removed, Michael & Leah left, and Andy & Laura came along. But then they lost the studio and now they're back in 1993 mode.

I think the only person that could save it is Kevin Pamplin with a similar style to Puffin's Pla(i)ce. Infact it may be best to just hand over CiTV to Channel TV. It's hard for me to say as it's in my region at the moment, and I'd love to work on it, but if they can't do it, I don't want to see it suffer.

And I agree about Swag dave! Some people liked him, some people hated him, but he was the best part of last years relaunch, and he was a puppet with a cool song who may not have appealed to older kids, but is the sort of thing to keep the little ones entertained.

New startup ident (well I think it was new)

Started witth the itv logo and the screen was split into to squares, with those squares flipping over to reveal the CiTV logo.

New ident at the start and a new song which sound's a bit like Laura singing it but i don't think it was, I liked the "All you need to be at quater past 3 is watching CiTV" better really, then again you can't beat the old tune when i was about 8 "When the Clock strikes Half Past Free, it's the time for you to see CiTV"

Damn missed the song but the ident sounds like it was the same as yesterday's. Fortunatly I didnt miss the start of Meg and Mog Laughing Oh and it's official: "it will be voiceovers, ie "out of vision", from now on" (from the pinboards).

I've just seen at 'NXT' and 'L8R' screen now with the usual vioceover, its in txt spk. Its good, but not as good as in-vision! The voice-over man is quite 'fun' tho.

Fairly safe to say no presenters (except voiceovers) and no studio. Had a 'Nxt' and 'L8R' split screen with a voiceover person. Not sure what to make of the CiTV logo they breifly showed.

That's good.Rather than help kids to spell properly, encourage them to use this increasinly infuriating "language".

Well I think the NXT/L8R slides are the best bit of this out of vision look really, with the music over the top of them coming from last year's start up ident.

At least they are advertising what is coming up later, as opposed to just mentioning whats on now.
