HAPPY 200TH

I'd like to thank everybody that's so far contributed to this thread, and long may it continue! Thank you very much!

And to celebrate...

I've just come across this, not sure if anyone on here has seen it before, or has downloaded it, it's from TV Home's focus section.
It's an early 90's Children's ITV ident with the cube (the one with the sun and moon and everything drawn all over it.

Its available for download left click, then right click the file from here!

Well seeing as we are celebrating, here are the opening titles from CiTV back in 1998 I think. Judging by Sooty's appearance in the titles I would imagine this was around his 40th aniversary.

Thanks for that, I've not seen those before... I presume that that's the opening titles followed by some of the other idents? They look like idents that would have been used around younger childrens' programmes.

Nice one Ben!
Yeah I've got some of these on tape, along with the ones that preceeded these from May.
These ones aired from Sept 98 till the very start of September 1999, and were the first to feature the traditional CiTV tune.

The set didn't really change that much, except they added light blue lines, like on the idents, and the floor had red & blue carpet tiles instead of orange and purple (the then central colours I think... when they had Carlton style Cartoon idents). Plus they had the 3D logos added and the telly's around the TV.

These were used before the blue look.
The animations are the start up (in the tots section), and the slot ended with a different style of music and the Crab becoming Space ship becoming spider, becoming tv becoming the CiTV logo.

Those were the days of good animations.
I wonder why they didn't do something like this last year instead of making loads of wierd things with the logo that weren't impressive and did nothing to the brand?
It's a bit like five's approach.

Though I don't understand why Sooty was in there, I think it was to do with his Golden Aniversery, they had them all in the studio too with a wall knocked up quickly.

Yeah that's right I've got all of that on tape somewhere these bits were just found at the end of a random tape so I must have copied them onto that for some reason. I've also got the moment they revealed the Christmas Tree on tape somewhere too.

Look's like a new look could be in the cards, as a few Promos have new end boards on them.

Hmm interesting just seen the MPAA promo looks like it is going to be completely different to what they have done in the previous years. Hope the idents will be better than the current set.

How do u mean? With the blue/red background and the drawn patern on the left?
For all we know they may just be changing their endboards and getting rid of the ripped paper idea.

Maybe, but i can see them keeping the Same logo but maybe dropping the White and using the Red and Blue more on Idents.

Interesting.
The thing that bothered me was that they started off well last September with each programme (bar What about Mimi, it seemed) had their own ident or idents, and they had their own style 4 note tune and were to do with the show, where as since January 2004, they've made them without music and about anything, and have even ruined some of the originals, like that one where it looks as if it's filmed looking at a TV.
If they were to go back and use the shows, or perhaps even do their own celebrity idents against a CSO interacting with the logo or letters, it may work well, not much time to do it now though!

It was interesting that they ended todays show saying "See you soon!"
Rather than, have a great weekend, or see you on Monday, or something.

Yeah when they said "See You Soon" it made you think, is that it from them until they find another studio?, Also if there is a new look Monday it would be cool if they brought back the old Theme, but i can't see that happening.
