Have CiTV got their days right!?!?!? As earlier Art Attack ended with Neil saying I will see you on Wednesday (It was a repeat from 2001), but the announcer butted in to say it was Thursday, then on the IVC announcement after it, they said Art Attack would be now on Monday's and Wednesdays!
Im glad i didnt miss todays stuff from MoM on citv, yesterday morning when citv finished i heard the announced say something about "At the ministry all week" It'll be also a good advertisement for MoM!
Im sure Stephen was joking when he's said that Ray cant act! lol
The IVC is recorded, hence the poor 'We'll see you a bit later but now watch this' generic links. The bit where Laura butted in I assume are live or more recent.
It's Thursday by the way, I thought they were showing brand new Art Attack until this cockup!
I think Ruth Maddoc will return to MoM, her story line last week was that she was going to find fame and fortune and the voice over said "Will Gordon hide that sausage before Miss Buthaven returns?" So im guessing she's on holiday.
It was strange seeing Michael, Stephen & Holly this afternoon, especially Michael & Stephen, and even though the links are recorded they still seemed at least 50% better than Laura & Andy, just the way they randomly talked to each other.
I presume that these MoM links have been recorded recently as they introduce the programmes, even brilliant creatures and finger tips (late changes to the schedules from the worst witch), Holly & Michael even commented on how young Stephen looked in the first series of finger tips from 2001(though he looks even younger in CiTV links from 1998!).
It's interesting how they're having someone doing voiced links over the top it's just like the days when i was a kid, and every link was quick and boring with just a little 10 second animation if you got that! Thank goodness for Puffin's Pla(i)ce, and CBBC (if I'm going to name them), Disney Channel and Nickelodeon (though both have their live content in the morning throughout the summer).
It was nice last week to here a voice, no body that's done stuff before, he was just a random voice, now that was like 1994. But I prefer the days from 2000 more when they had good presenters live, many ways to interact, especially if things went wrong, a good studio design, had phone competitions, and even messes about with sketches on some occassions, surely this is what kids want, isn't it? Isn't that why Saturday Morning Shows usually have (or used to have) the highest childrens programme ratings of the week?
If they could pull off an SM:tv Live format in a weekday slot with just a few programme and more content, wouldn't they get more children watching? Actually, if they could pull off the Ant, Dec & Cat formula, they'd most probably get many adults watching too!
From what you said, I always ahted the out-of-vision format of CITV in the 90s. In fact, most people I know did- it even popped up on some TV based show CBBC were broadcasting around 1994. I was pleased when they re-instated in-vision in 1998 though from what I can remember, for the first few weeks Sundays were still just a voice over.

Oh yes I saw that. Andy interacting with one of the Doctor's experiments yesterday was cringeworthy, not exactly anywhere near as good as on the real MoM. I'm sure he's getting worse, his (and my) namesake over on CBBC is much better as well
Talking about Peter Cocks, he's good as the doctor and good as Dad in Globo Loco, but as Roland Butter it all just seems a bit too far as the character is just so bad its bad.
Also is it in his contract that he must appear in every programme made by The Foundation!

I remember it when Tommy Boyd used to do the IVC Links until 1993, then shocked one day that he had disappeared, I didn't mind the animations, but I preferred the IVC, though when CiTV came from the Carlton Basement in 1998 it felt like it was back to normal, even though both Stephen and Danielle acted like 12 year olds there was something nice about it, you had the old IVC back but it was more modern. I still have some CiTV continuity from Christmas Eve 1998, when it was on at 2pm, the closing link was just mental as Danielle was going AWOL because it was Christmas tomorrow.
The Sunday thing was dodgy at first as there was little IVC, and they were also happy to promote the fact that ".....is not on Scottish and Grampian" Though I've got a classic Sunday opener from 1998 when they set up this fake scene with all of the crew getting ready, Stephen saying to who is supposedly Danielle that they won't tell the difference, though you hear Danielle's voice saying Stephen, WE'RE ON AIR, so they all rush and Stephen says "Welcome to CiTV...." and you see Danielle who turns around to reveal herself, but it is a guy in a wig. Though I don't have the next bit on tape, I think the excuse was that she was late for work.
Though I don't really like it at the minute, some days there is IVC, some there isn't, sometimes it f*cks up etc. It was better when it was Michael and Leah, Leah got a tad annoying but they were good at it.
