I liked the letterbox way. it did remind me of SM:TV in that sense, I would prefer it if it wasn't filmic though

I've also noticed there's been no website slide at the end of the Ministry for the last 2 weeks, was this axed as part of the re-launch?

I noticed this too. I thought last week it was because they were over running, but to do it this week is strange. I used to like it as it played the music to which led to the end cap, rather than the end cap fading up.

This brings me to another question, why are programmes being credited to Carlton? I thought that after the merger they'd be one company, and they decided that Granada would be the name for the production company, which is also very strange.

Surely it makes sense to use the brand as much as possible and to bring everything under one brand, much as the BBC does.
So the company is ITV, former Granada, Carlton (and it's regional) productions would become ITV productions, and the programmes made in current regional areas would be known as itv...whatever region, and all websites would be ITV named and connected, etc.

Anyway back to the ministry. Still no titles, it's just how long they stand there dancing. You can only cut to each of the presenters so many times.

Nice to see a bit more of Ray today, but it's the fact that they have to rely on the doctor and ray because they don't have anyone else that could make the show better.

Everything is getting to the point of being samey now, where they're doing at home with the mayhems, cakey sk8, the performance, walk this way at the same point everyweek, at least there used to be a different each week.

I didnt like the canned kids cheering sound effect at the beginning and end of this weeks and last weeks ministry, you could tell the kids wernt cheering when the cameras panned around the audience!.

and still no post for the ministry? im guessing this is because the younger viewers are probably abroad.

The reason we don't see Ray that often must be because he can't act or learn lines, hence why Stephen said 'it's the first line Ray's ever got right'. They obviously hired him based on his height only!

I wonder if that's the last we've seen of Ruth Madoc, a bizzare signing if ever there was one, who approached who I can't imagine.

Also arn't Michael, Stephen and Holly due a holiday at some point, might we see stand-in presenters like they used to have on SM:TV.

Finally, Andy and Laura's CITV summer tour is at MoM all next week, so there might be some behind the scenes stuff shown

Well apparently all network productions were going to be credited to Granada, though strange as Carlton still contributes many programmes to the network even though they want to phase out the brand; Carlton. At the moment the only things that have ITV to their names are the regional productions, ie ITV Granada etc.

Butthaven is turning into the Chums style sketch now, they are going off script more which makes it better.

Funny you should say that as Butthaven is written by Dean Wilkinson. (Dean was the head writer for SM:tv during the Ant and Dec era.)

I thought it would have been written by Ged Allen or Peter Cocks as both write children's comedy shows.

At least the spirit of SM:TV lives on long after the show has gone........

There's one thing that can be said though- for The Saturday Show to finally overtake SM:TV, SM:TV's ratings had to drop to around 800,000.
