I did notice the SM:TV studio at riverside was a fraction of the size of the one at the South Bank (they had a massive studio tere), but as the yonly really did SM:TV Gold from there (they did do a couple fo SM:TV lives IIRC) I guess it really didn't amtter. Also as SM:TV and CD:UK weren't in the same studio at riverside, I guess there must have been some amount of moving around as all musical performances on SM:TV came from CD:UK's studio as fas as I can tell. They also utilised the CD:UK stages during the final SM:TV. Seems sad really, I still think SM:TV was better than MoM.

I agree James-SM:TV was far superiour to Ministry of Mayhem.

MOM is brilliant as a KIDS show, but the SM:tv Audience was mainly Teens like myself and Adults, thus why the Saturday Morning Shows on both the BBC and ITV Rating's have dropped.

ITV obviously think they make TV better than Blaze-which is so wrong. 50 minutes of CD:UK today was better than the whole show of MOM.

There were teenagers in the audience a few weeks ago, bascially because McFly and Busted were on, since they've been on the audience has gone back to the original age group they had on the show before Busted and McFly were on.

It was a good show today, the doctor made me laugh as usual especially when he kept saying "Pick up the little poof's Stephen" in the german accent. Its amazing how the doctor gets away with saying "crude" stuff like that in his german accent. I bet if he didnt have a german accent he would get warned or something for saying "crude" stuff on kids tv.

I noticed ITV are re-running "It shouldn't happen to a children't presenter" and that includes some footage (and behind the scenes) from an early SM:TV. It seems very odd seeing again that old set and some of the old footage that I haven't seen in ages. It's clear the style is very different to the show we know and love. No Cat though, it was clearly done over the few weeks in June/July 1999 when she was on holiday. It wqas almost ironic seeing someone backstage mentioning the show had been recommissioned and saying it would contiue forever!

And yes, fanoftv, this does seem another oppurtunity to ask that certain question relating to old SM:TVs.

Another thing that I liked about SM:tv was how the Crew and Production Team were just as naughty as the Presenters-lol!!

You wonder why Ant,Dec and Cat looked in their direction a lot and laughed? I'll leave you all to work it out eh?! Wink

Yes the whole show is very outdated now, there's also the very old footage of CITV finding a new presenter.
Notice the clips of Ant and Dec rehersing SM:TV, they have these bits of yellow paper in their hand, scripts!. We should put an end to this scripted/unscripted debate.

I thought today's MoM was one of the best so far. as said above, the Doctor was at his best again, during the 'All Blown Up' feature when Stephen introduced the blast expert 'Doctor Roger Roger Doctor' and he said something 'maybe later but we need to get on with the show', there's also the weekly gag with the Doctor asking Stephen to put on his protection. Just the same sort of humour you used to get on SM:TV.

Also, they seem to be promoting My Parents are Aliens heavilly tonight, I've seen the trailer three times tonight during YBF! and ISHTACP

I agree with Andrew it was the best today (it felt like an old episode today with spelling smackdown this week) Im not too keen on Stephens new outfit for Spelling Smackdown though. I've seen on a few websites that Chums is due out for DVD on the 12/07/04 (the same day as my birthday) so i may buy that for a birthday present.

Stephen broke his earpiece when he pulled it out for Spelling Smackdown. I bet that please the production team.

FriendFanatic,

It does seem like Conor has managed to get Ant,Dec and Cat back again for brand new Episodes of Chums.

Think about it....

-Would they really bring out ANOTHER Chums best bits DVD?

-Would they bring out an SMTV item so long after it finished?

-And it would make sense to do things on Video after it was axed on TV.

Am I just getting my hopes up too much or does the above make sense? Very Happy Very Happy

Hmm...interesting about the new episodes.

Play.com The picture for the chums DVD is the same as the video. I have my doubts that it'll be the same as the video of chums which was released in 2001? unfortunatly my VCR decided to eat the tape up and ruin it so if it is the same as the video i'll have another reason to buy it.

Im also hoping that this DVD is going to be different with different episodes on it too.

That's what I would draw from this usually....new episodes of Chums.

The only thing putting me off is Ant and Dec...I know they love all of the show ,but would they do it? Saying this, they'd probaly only have to give up one afternoon to record a video,so it is likely.

Anyway,I have e-mailed Conor at Blaze about it,so we'll see.....
