Wathcign CD:UK, I've boticed they've just shown d12's new video cropped to 16:9 and it looks horible- saw no less than 3 occasions with someone's head cut off. The question is why? When CD:UK was 4:3, they used to show widescreen content as 14:9. Now they're 16:9, why can't they do the same with 4:3 footage- show them as 14:9? It would look much better. With short clips it might not matter, but with full music videos, it does looks dreadful, even worse if you're watching in 4:3.

On a related not, on MoM they said Cat wasn't hosting CD:UK, but someone from Mis-Teeq (IIRC) was, and did the rundown on MoM. Oddly though, even though this was said, CD:UK starts and Cat IS there! Has someone got their wires crossed or something?

Todays CD:UK wasn't live all pre recorded, Alesha from Mis-Teeq did the voiceover for the news etc and the Saturday chart rundown 10-2 then back to Cat who didn't know who was No 1.

Today's show was clearly pre-recorded right from the second it opened, somehow you can just tell. Anyone know why?

Most probably as it's the Easter Bank Holiday Weekend, and Cat is severely owed holidays.
They have been pre recording them since last year when she's on holiday or unable to make it for the Saturday and having someone else do the voice over. Last year it was mainly Tess that did the voice overs (she filled in a couple of times also), until she left.

With cd:uk one of the biggest audience grabbers is that Cat hosts it, it's like Fearne when she had a week off and few weeks ago and they got Tim Kash in to present it. Same show, same production team, but it wasn't quite right.

Ministry was it's usual self again today. Some good points, but compared to Dick & Dom it was lifeless. This is most probably because Dick & Dom was SO good this morning, the ministry could still be better though!

Not wishing to go off topic but Cat Deeley and her beau are on holiday in the Carribean Island of Mystique according to some bikini snaps of the Fame Academy, CD:UK & Stars In Their Eyes: Kids host in the News Of the World (12th April) which explains the pre recorded CD:UK on Saturday morning.

Hi, I'm new here. Has anyone heard any rumours about Ministry of Mayhem ending? I know that the show hasn't done that well with the ratings but I would have thought ITV would have given it longer to take off.

Star mag claims "it'v's flagging saturday morning replacement for sm:tv the -ministry of mayhem- is to undergo an overhaul in a desperate attempt to boost lacsture ratings. An insider said ' the first 3 month's have been pretty hit and miss, the show hasn't been the biggest flop, but it's becoming clear to itv that without major changes it will never a be as popular as sm:tv.

Doesn't seem suprising. I'm personally suprised to see the Spellmanator coming back next week, I saw that as one of the weaker elements of the show. It was one of the main things that had peopellaughing at the show. A game where people have to spell words? Seems more suited to CBeebies IMO.

Thanks for your coments. I heard that it was being axed at the end of June but I never know whether or not to believe rumours or not. Time will tell. One thing for sure is that MoM will never be as good as SM:tv, even if it does undergo a huge make-over.
