Let's look at the evidence... CiTV only ever beats CBBC on afternoons when My Parents are Aliens is playing. So its obvious, CiTV are doing this to beat CBBC and get more ratings.
Nickelodeon is a good example of this, they drop shows if they don't do well after a week or two. They've done it recently with My Life as a Teenage Robot and Radio Free Roscoe on Nick. While on Nicktoons TV, they dropped Yakkity Yak after failing to wooh the ratings. They'll normally put double bills of Sabrina and Saved by the Bell when things don't go well (they did it just before the easter holidays).
watching the early MPAA episodes I can see why people think the original Sophie was better, anyone know why she left? It's also much better without the stupid canned laugher.
She was so much better, far funnier! What excuse did they use for why Sophie turned different and turned boring?
I wouldn't say she turned boring, she's still acting the scripts from the same writers, just without the silly voice.
The reason was that Sophie morphed into the new version at the start of series 3 and decided she liked it.
Tuesday's MPAA came with special short credits which only listed two main members of the crew and then straight to the endcap, hence why CITV showed it. On Wednesday's episode they showed proper credits instead which CITV squashed as usual and cut off just before the endcap appears. The credits differ from later series though in that the main cast that are credited on the opening titles arn't credited so the cast credits start from Patrick Niknejad onwards.
Oh and something completely different, was Big Meg Little Meg a Granada Kids job, as I've just realised its Emmerdale's Shelley Williams who played Big Meg.
Do nick really do that? Have they moved the new shows, or is it just a waste of money? Do nick, disney, cartoon network and fox kids/jetix actually pay to air programmes made by their US companies?
Such as would nick have to pay to screen a new nick cartoon? Or would the Disney Channel pay to screen a Disney Channel original comedy?
Perhaps the problem with CiTV isn't the programmes, but more the surrounding content. SM:tv became popular due to good thinking, and good presenters and the audience stuck and watched the programmes, much in the way that they do with Dick & Dom, and Ministry of Mayhem (though with less viewers than SM:tv's days).
Perhaps what they should focus on is to turn the segment into event TV, something that people would want to tune in for. Not necessarily for the programmes, but for the content.
Saturday Mornings have worked like this for years, so why couldn't it work everyday?
Much as people turn to a news channel for news coverage, or a better example, the people that watched the Big Breakfast every morning.
On a different note. Ministry of Mayhem has launched new trailers (something which they seem to be good at!).
These new trailers involve Stephen, Michael & Holly spreading the word of the Ministry by holding boards with MOM written on them to crowds. They have them on the moon (as part of the moon landing), on the balconey of Buckingham Palace with the royal family, and in the crowd at the Rugby World Cup after Johnny Wilkinson kicks the ball.
I'm very impressed by how they've done it, much better than the new Saturday Show ones. If only viewing figures went on trailers!

I'd presume so, though I doubt it's massivly expensive seeing as the UK counterparts probabally won't have paid toward the production of the show, though I doubt it can by that expensive to continue showing them even if the viewing figures aren't too hot. At least the people who are watching them are enjoying them. Maybe they can jsut shove them to less watched slots, it's seems better than endless Sabrina/Spongebob/Rugrats etc... that Nick & Nick Toons seem to show constantally, they should have some of the older shows as well, rather than just recent ones as Nick Toons cleared out a lot of their older cartoons last July sadly.
Still, it's much better than what Cartoon Network are doing, from what was a good channel (when i was 13 it was all I watched) with a good mix of programming, to a bland channel with 7 or 8 shows in the schedule repeated ad nausum. Part of the problem was them shoving a lot of shows off to Boomerang & Toonami (why they couldn't be on the main CN channel as well is beyond me) but also got rid of the older CN shows as wellleaving the schedule empty.

Yeah they do move shows. Radio Free Roscoe and Yakkity Yak haven't come back as of yet. But, Teenage Robot has a weekend slot and is moving to Nicktoons TV in May.
It really depends on what channels have to buy from the USA. In most cases, Nick would have to buy a Nick show and Disney would have to buy a Disney show. Very rarely they get it free. I think Nick gets Ginger and Spongebob free, but doesn't get Rugrats free - I've got no idea why!

Well I guess they have to pay a standard fee every time they show the programmes. But if they do have to contribute, then I would guess that its mentioned on the credits with something like 'Thanks to Nickelodeon UK' or something on the lines of that.
With Rugrats, remember it is made by Klasky Csupo, which is a big company who does alot of work for The Simpsons, so I guess they have more rights over that than Nickelodeon. But then again the other toons are also made by IPC's.
Whilst I was up the other morning (Work, you see) I discovered that Rocko's Modern Life was still being shown on Nick, shame it can't do any better than Sunday at 6.30am in Sign Language!
