So they are basically trying to give itv a bad name by making people believe they show even more adverts.

General question. When ratings for programmes (on commercial channels) drop; do they reduce the number of adverts they show; or do they reduce the cost that advertisers have to pay for the advertising space?

BTW. That safe door thing has just been on again; i wonder whats behind it!?

Yeah. Thats why i dont get why they now have the thing see you tomorrow sting straight after the weekday programmes and before the ads; when they used to run the ads and have the see you tomorrow at 9:25 then trisha.

Probalby to make it look like ITV1 is showing the adverts and not GMTV

Probably because to the average viewer GMTV is just a programme on ITV, therefore it makes sense to show their endcap at the end of the programme. The fact that the 9.19am ad break is owned by GMTV is irrelevant to viewers.

Weekend programming tend to get overlooked which is probably why they are still doing it the old way, notice the weekend endcap is still the "Ten years at the top" one

Yeah I noticed this on saturday. Its most probably because its all computerised. The programs are programme in along with links, ident and adverts and plays through in that order; they most probably have a few people for the 10 minute news update at 6; though I heard that when DiGGiT was live; they took control of GMTV up until 9:25.

Back to CITV

Michael did a link at 3.55 just after Hey Arnold and didn't reappear again until 4.55 after My Parents are Aliens. Both UP2U and My Parents are Aliens came straight on after a bumper.

Also on UP2U they said it was the last show next week, though of course it isn't as its Alien Week next week, so nobody knows when the last show will actually be shown!

It was a bit wierd that; though i presume they were a bit pushed for time; as they seem to be showing more & more trailers; showing some as part of the adverts in widescreen; not sure if this is part of the adverts timings or part of CiTV time; not even sure if its nationwide; the ones shown in the ads tend to have the moving CiTV logo in the top left.

More sightings of the safe door thing.

I either presume that they will show the last up to you on the first week of the new season of programmes (from sept 8th) or they will stick it on in an odd slot was gonna say sundays but sundays are now mini makes sundays; the only other slot i can think of is after cd:uk on saturday where they dont have a regular show yet; this week its v festival highlights.

They should bring back the saturday afternoon slot that they had last summer; though now on the balls back; though they could still run it from 2-4 or something.

I don't knowa bout anyone else, but I always prefered Diggit when it was Diggit, I don't really like Diggin' It as much. I always thought diggit was more friendly.

Diggin'it is good for the sketches that they do as they make the show; some of them are actually quite funny for a kids show; DiGGiT was good as it was live so it was interactive and unpredictable. DiGGiT was of course best when it first started;

HAS ANYONE GOT THE ORIGINAL TITLES?

If CiTV could cut nick shows in half; get more live studio airtime they could introduce some good sketches and show some of the best presenter chemistry between michael & leah; get more guests in and bands and stuff; and get more interactive content; this would make CiTV a must see! From mondays special Michael & Leah's bits were more entertaining than the new programmes!

Especially loved CiTV news.
Michael : "And coming soon, a new show; 'What about mimi?'"
Crew : " What about You?" (None of them at the same time as the other!);

and then the pic of the hippo at the end; dont know what it was for; but it was funny!

Another thing about CITV, they should bring back phone number jingles!

Also I wonder why Tellytots branding was dropped, I thought it was quite a good thing to distinguish between pre-school and older kids tv

I have emailed them asking them to bring back singing phone numbers. If u look at CiTV a couple of years ago it was in so much better shape set wise; presentation wise; input wise; programme wise; everything much better.

But it looks as though they are going to be back on their feet very soon!

Im not sure who made telly tots; as im not sure who produced CiTV's graphics; if it was in house; i dont know why it was dropped. Perhaps because the voices of the characters kept changing.

It was really good when they bought in that brand at first; but after a few months they gave up and stuck to basically the same links; victor the car on his own and repeats of shows. I wonder if Telly Tots magazine is still going?

The Telly Tots service offered something different to the younger viewer as they prefer stuff like this to presenters sitting on cushions with no picture on the board or something in their eye! Thus why the CBeebies bugs have been so popular.

If u look at the Telly Tots programming; all of it is original and CiTV made (bar tiny planets; though do CiTV have an input in it somewhere?) and Boobah as that was made for GMTV. But the Telly Tots programming is better than the main output; mainly because they have a clear demographic; and the fact that they can get so many stars on the Tots programming. If you havent seen Hilltop Hospital; watch it when it returns and see how many voices u can recognise; there are loads of major stars in that! Dame Thora Hird once did it (and I believe CiTV shownt it the week after she passed away).

Declan Donnelly (Does Ant do it as well) voices something as well doesn't he?

Dec voices Engie Bengy; quite a good series; that can now also be seen on nick jr along with many other old itv tots shows; it seems its the oposite to nick and proper CiTV. Ant voices Jollop the dog; not a big role; but he does sometimes do a scooby doo talking yelp/bark.

Joanna Lumley and Bob Hoskins voiced the forgotton toys for CiTV.

Neil Morrisey did the narration on Maisy whilst Martin Clunes narrated the kipper series as well as voicing merlin in last years merlin the magical puppy along with dawn french.

Hilltop Hospital features many voices; I wont spoil it; ill make u watch and see how many u can identify!
