CiTV & Ministry of Mayhem thread

There was no presenters on todays CiTV.
They did use an old CiTV sting. the one where the hands revealed a wet-painted CiTV logo.
As usual the bubble 'Goodbye' caption was used. Haven't they made any other 'Goodbye' captions?
They keep squashing the credits up with trailers but what annoys me is the Bernards Watch trailer was used twice. Can't they leave the credits on. It is only 30ish seconds!
Finally, they repeated the first ep of the new series of Brilliant Creatures. They should either show an older series or replace it with The Big Bang because if people watched that ep from a few weks ago then they will probably turn over to Smile.

Most probably the same as the past two weeks, 500,000. It will take time for the show to gain viewers, if it ever does!
The beginning was too I don't know it was too scripted, where as last week it was scripted yet free, as they adlibed and did whatever they wanted.
I liked the film clip of the Lord of the Rings this week. And when Stephen was pulled off the sofa by 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin. I wonder why they moved the sofa! I quite liked it when they kept moving it back into the centre.



It's what's known as the art attack sting. If this presentation continues through the whole of this year, they will no doubt bring other pre christmas stings back, such as the MPAA ones.

I don't like how they don't have the start up now. The two versions before christmas were nice, featured stars of all shows and had a tune compared to these ones that now advertise a show basically!
And the toybox sting was great, compared to what we have now, I'm going to hit the roof soon "Now you can always see all your friends on CiTV, throughout the year...etc, etc."
The quality of the new lot is nothing compared to the original september idea.
That Goodbye sting with the bubbles is annoying me as there's no music to it, and it's rubbish! The only other one is the Pirate Islands one that they have recreated so that the CiTV flag lowers and the clouds have formed 'See you Tomorrow'.

I'm sick of the fact that they show trailers over the credits, it's annoying me. It wouldn't be as bad if they used the itv style credits to cut out the middle section, but they don't, they just squash them! The How 2 titles looked horrible as they take up the whole 4:3 space!
Though for people that don't like the CiTV dog, there wasn't much of it seen today, as both How 2 and art attack have white sets, so it kept disapearing, on How 2 more so!

This year's bumpers and stings are mixed but the start up idents are officially poor. Now they are in a predicament where they can't use last year's as they are no longer current, they should have a generic opening ident that can be used at all times, with just the letters and the shapes animating, also they peaked too soon making 2 for last year and none this year. The one they use at 9.25am on Saturdays is particularly bad!. This also applies for the end ident it should be a generic one

I don't mind that "where you need to be at quarter past three is watching CIT...V!" trailer, although some days when the tots shows are short they show it twice within 10 mins!

I don't see why they can't make a new generic one like last years. Perhaps if they re used one of the versions from one of last years. The end is awful at 5, I wonder who makes all of these decisions on how it looks, etc.

I'm confused by the saturday one. For MoM shows 1 & 3 they used the lighting one which flashes white and then goes into the sponsership trailer. Yet MoM show 2 they used the lightning, flashing white, and the white being that of the ministry monstee's door as it panned out with that flying into the air.

Overall it's a very diverse look. But set, animations, music wise. I think I'd have preferred them to update the old set, or a new set with the old set shell, and have perhaps introduced the new tune and modernised the bouncing letters to the new shape of the current (I think it's only mainly the 'C' which has changed as it's fatter in places and takes up the left of the oval).

3rd MoM - 600,000 (up 75,000 on last week) 10% audience share

D&D - 950,000 (down 50,000 from last week) 17% audience share

Not bad after only a few weeks!

I quiet like the 'CITV' sting they used on Saturday, where you just see the ITV logo being struck by bolts of colour, but not continuing to reveal a CITV logo. I prefer this to seeing the random naff stuff that usual accompanies the CITV logo on the weekday startups, although I have no problem with the "where you need to be at quarter past three is watching CIT...V!".

Some of the CITV specific idents eg. the pirate flag, flintstones etc. aren't too bad, but I would like to see generic CITV ident (2 version) used for the start and end of CITV.

Not bad at all. If they can keep hold, and build up slowly it will make interesting viewing the figures when the Saturday Show returns.

Yeah, they have a chance of beating The Saturday Show. Some of the saturday audience seems to of dramatically dropped from ITV1 and BBC1, perhaps T4's got some?

I think satellite has most of the audience! All the music channels and 24 hr cartoon channels take most of the available audience on a saturday morning! Over 40% audience share!

Back In Ant & Dec's day the take-up of satellite was a lot less and so the figures were a lot higher. Much more competitive today which could cause a problem for both BBC1 and ITV1.

That means that the crappy Sleepover Club in only on Mondays.Although it is only a rpeat because it mentions 'Anut Zelda' in. Why can't CiTV show the rest of the last ever series of Sabrina (which SM:TV started). Still at least its on!

Nice to see that Sabrina's back, good afternoon overall. Great Programmes, and great links. Loved today's Swag the Bag when Andy told Swag his hat made him look like an old woman, and he said that he was supposed to look like Jamariqui.

Sonic X reminds me of an american produced show thats trying to copy anime like Yu-Gi-Oh!
