Excellent show today for the departure of Tess Daley. It really is on top form again at the moment; yet they're still getting rid! Perhaps what they should do is not end it altogether but have the new show from jan - sept; with sm:tv sept - mar or something.

Stephen has been excellent again; Im sure he wil be inline to be one the hosts of the new show (especially as he has worked for carlton at citv and foundation tv with finger tips, brilliant creatures and globo loco!

Im unsure what they are going to do next week though! Will Stephen be sticking around? will Shavaughan ever return? Will the SM:tv Gold series start next week? Will they be moving to the riverside studios?

All unanswered questions that we'll have to wait for the answers for; or something like that!

And a final one; wil they celebrate their 5th birthday; as on the last saturday in august 1998; ant, dec & cat hosted the very first edition of sm:tv live; not the best one they've ever done, but it was their first!

Yes Des is the only presenter SM:TV has got at the moment, as Stephen is technically still a guest and Shavaughan seems to have disappeared!

I wouldn't think that the SMTV Gold would start yet as it was only announced a few days ago

If I remember correctly, this was Shavaugn's fifth week away - perhaps they asked her to take her five weeks holiday off now, so that she returns for when Tess is gone.

Im not sure; I presume she has just been away; perhaps her & tess didnt get on or something! They have updated the website, they removed brian; but they havent removed Shavaughan (yet!).

Just because SMTV Gold was mentioned a few days ago; it doesnt mean that they havent been planning it for ages!

Next week is supposed to be the week that cd:uk (and I presume sm:tv for a short while) move to the riverside studios. I wonder why this is; if they have planned to following the decision to discontinue sm:tv in the new year. Its although they have hired the studio at the london studios every saturday for 5 years.

It also seems wierd how SM:tv will finish and a new show start in the new year as the contracts are usually yearly and would therefore start a new show in september; unless they wanted to really work on the new show and give SM:tv a big send off; after all it has been the nations favourite saturday morning show for a long time!

Is any of CD:UK actually live ? The acts all look pre-recorded, and Kat's bits look as if they've just surrounded her with a few screaming and clapping girls in a bit of the studio.

BBC One are going to be apadting this soon with dick & dom from sept - april and the saturday show april - sept. Although Im convinced that they have it the wrong way round. When The Saturday Show returns in april will it be from glasgow or has that deal now finished?

I think TSS would be better in Autumn/Winter as well.
However, recently I think CBBC Scotland have done a bad job with the saturday morning shows (compared to London). I think FBi was rubbish and they could have done better with the current Saturday Show, the only good thing they've done recently is the Saturday Show with Dani and Joe.
They seem to be totally biased towards the scottish in a lot of things. Most of the players on the show are scottish (I know it's time consuming for them to get to London), but London don't pick someone because they are from London. In Rule the School both times the head has been scottish (I think by thier accents[spl?]) I'm not trying to have a dig at the scottish if it sounds like that though.
If the Saturday Show is developed totally in by BBC Scotland it should be better than them taking the London show (Fully Booked for expample).

I think also SM:tv may turn into the original Sat Show (more audience participation, new ideas; like risk, house-band). But still have sketches and a tendancy to have Busted on every show possible JUST to boost ratings if it's aimed at younger children. At times when they're not promoting, do they get paid for doing shows like that? They must be stupidly rich if they do.

yesterday's show was pre recorded as live.

not all the acts in the studio are live on every show. they cut to pre-recorded ones or previously seen ones on nearly every show because people wont be available. however, there are live acts in the studio and the shows are more often than not live. i presume there have been more pre-recorded ones recently because of Cat doing fame academy live on the same day and it could be pretty exhausting.

Was it me or were some of the performances from a different studio on Yesterdays show. I think Abs and Kelly Clarkson were in a different studio. It looked so different because the stage looked to be higher and it looked like there was only one stage, either that or they blacked out the rest of the studio for just these two performances. Is this ITV's way of slipping in a new studio?

Yes, I thought that, aren't they moving to new studios anyway ?

As ive said already in this post; they are supposed to be moving to the riverside studios as of next week; though I dont know whether they will change anything! Usually the first week in sept (well last weekend in aug this year) has been when sm:tv/cd:uk change their looks. The current cd:uk look is two years old as it was introduced in sept 2001 just before ant & dec left!

Going off SM:TV for a moment and onto CITV, They are doing a special programme tommorow for Bank Holiday Monday:

CITV Extra Bits
09:25 to 10:45
Michael and Leah present a bank holiday morning of fun, including a look ahead to some autumn CITV shows.

Remember people were complaining about the lack of Summer Holiday kids tv this year. Well ITV1 have got kids stuff all the way from 6am to 10.45am tommorow, plus some kids films after that.

BBC1 are showing Breakfast, Hi-Di-Hi and Animal Park with the usual cut down CBBC Breakfast Show continuing on BBC2

From what they have been saying on CiTV; they are going to be showing the best bits of progs from sept 02-aug 03; and showing clips from new shows and returning shows sept 03 +

Should be a good watch!
