I'm starting to think that there is only one presenter of CiTV as we haven't seen anyone else apart from Andy yet.
I hope their will be at least one more presenter because then on Friday's we may have two and I always find two presenters are better and aren't so nervious.
1999 Rosie & Jim today, though the old tune was nice to hear again, even though CiTV cut off the end of the end credit music, and squished the titles.
They had a repeat of Sooty. I thought that these were new ones, but they were old with the 70's style puppets (with the evil looking sue & butch!), and the new Soo voice.
Bernard's Watch was ok, and should appeal to kids. Nice to change it, though I thing the music used on the trailers would have been better title music.
Still only Andy on his own. I hope that there is going to be someone else. Perhaps they've changed their mind. And I cringed when he did the water pistol sketch, oh well, maybe he will improve.
Andrew Hayden Smith is only good when he's with Angellica. On his own he's a bit dull, though he presents better than he used to.
I don't think Sooty's as good as it used to be, I mean they've introduced all these new puppets alongside Sotty, Sweep and Sue and none of them are appealing in the Sooty way. Lack of Matthew Corbett doesn't help either.
Bernard's Watch is now so detached from the original idea but at least it looks more grown up. The voiceover from previous series made it more patronising I felt but the entire format now wants to be a mini-drama. Still at least from today's episode there was a real situation in which one could put said watch to good use as opposed to previous series which felt too set up, IMO.
This is a quote from michael from an article in what's on tv "I can't reveal too much, but the ministry is a big bulding with loads of rooms that have all got suprises in..." it then goes on to say the show's a mix of guests, competitions sketches ect... then i can't remeber it word for word but basicly michael says he's going to be at all the big premiers and parties for the show, and each week he's been sent to do a different job, which he won't know exactly what untill he get's there. it's not a long article, but it gives just a little bit more info, it sounds like michael is going to be an "on the road" presenter, and i wonder if the "Big Building" is an actual building converted especially for the show, like the big breakfast house, or a mock building in a studio like dick and dom
I've just been mixing these themes with the titles from the last ever SM:TV I have on my PC (I capped them for TV Whirl), and it seems odd seeing familiar titles with different music, especially with the original CD:UK theme, where the music just doesn't seem to fit at all! Obviously when watching in 1998 it must have seemed right as we hadn't seen the titles with any other music, but after seeing those titles for 5 years with the familiar theme tune (all 5 different versions of it) it seems odd, especially as I assosiate that music with CD:UK (and those Black & White titles they used to have).

Well Andrew and Angelica seemed to be having a lot of fun over on One, meanwhile Andy did seem a bit dull. On the other hand though Leah used to often be over the top with excitement.
Maybe we'll see someone else tommorow? or maybe not? do you know any inside info greg?
"Lunar" Bag the Swag's bit is still quite good although the banter isn't as good as it was with Michael

You can tell that the producers are trying to induce the enthusiasm of leah & michael into him by giving him little sketches to do, he tried to do them, but with someone like Tom Darville, they would have been, and old ones were great.
They still seem to be ruining perfecting good graphics, keeping the tunes and adding cheap quick animations instead. And I hate the lack of music on the start up and end. Even if they have to revert back to the original Sept start up music, it will be better than into a hey arnold or spongebob quick sting. And I miss the excellent ToyBox animation. It seems to have gone downhill, and I don't understand why.
I haven't got my copy of What's On TV yet, but it sounds like it will be an informative interview. I hope he isn't solely on the road. I can understand them wanting to go down the road of two main presenters (one male, one female) as the saturday show have, but I think that Stephen & Michael will work great together, if they get a chance. It may start off having a bit of Michael and then ending up with him as a main presenter like L&K 2000/01 did with Sarah Cawood.
Having different rooms with surprises sounds a bit current bungalow, but then the rest sounds SM:tv. It will be interesting. I hope they have a live audience though. It would be a shame to lose them off all saturday mornings. Even if they did a fully booked and had them all sitting at tables.
Now there's a new way to spend your saturday mornings, because sm;tv live is being replaced with itv 1's crazy new kids show, Ministry of Mayhem - presented by Michael Underwood, Holly willoughby and Stephen Mulhern. 'I cabt reveal too much but the ministry's a big building with lots of rooms that are full of suprises,' says Michael, 27. 'We'll have interviews and performances from pop stars, as well as sketches, games and bizarre goings-on in the studio.' And lucky Michael will get to mix with all the big stars. 'I'll be at all the premiers meeting hollywood celebs like keira Knightly, orlando bloom and daniel radcliff,' he grins. 'And i'll try to get them intop the studio for interviews.' But it's not all glitz and glamour, each week Michael will be sent to try out a new mystery job. 'it could be anyhting, they won't tell me,' he says. 'But iv heard horrible rumours, from unblocking sewers to finding ouit whether a chicken is male or female. I get all the best jobs!'
I hope Michael is a sort of side-line presenter, i find him very annoying and too over the top and too kids tv for satruday morning kids tv, if you now what i mean, steven grew on me whilst he was presenting sm:tv, but he was always doing ant & dec stuff, so i think he might be better on an all new show which he can make his own. althugh i still can't see him appealing to adults like other past saturday morning presenter have.

But it is still kids tv. That's who it's aimed at, as long as they can get kids to watch it, they won't mind.
The only real saturday morning presenters that have really appealed well to adults were ant, dec & cat. I don't think that Tess, Brian, H, Claire, Des or Shavaughan appealed to adults.
If you find Michael over the top, what do you think of Dick & Dom? I think Michael has really shown what he can do whilst being at CiTV and being offered other presenting roles. And certainly when you look at people on other channels and replacement presenters, he certainly was good at his job.
If anyone hasn't seen, the light trailers now end saying
"Officials recognise the reconstruction to be the Ministry of Mayhem; coming your way Saturday's. Standby your Television."
It ends with a blue building in the middle of a town sprouting arms, a head and legs, with the arms firing out the coloured lighting, I wonder if this is part of the titles, with the ministry being that building.
And I'm presuming that this is the address of the Ministry of Mayhem website.
I know it's not CiTV related, but the brand new CBBC drama 'powers' was excellently made. It's about a organisation that helps people understand their powers. Well made and a CBBC original.
Why aren't CiTV doing this sort of stuff?
And now a Blue Peter Quest 2 special, and as all of the quests this is excellently made and produced. This is the one where it is set in the Victorian Ages after the Blue Stone, with Valerie Singleton being there head.
