I was wondering if the episode where the three presenters of CiTV who take part in Jungle Run will ever be shown because Leah is in it? If Leah is leaving will it be shown?

Oh! One more thing, will they repeat Chums on CiTV?? If they do this (PLEASE!!) I hope will show it from very beginning to the end.

P:S:: If they bring presenters back I hope they change the studio!

Not sure if they will show it. It isn't billed, but surely if they knew that Leah was leaving they would have thought to put it on instead of a normal edition. It does exist though as they have shownt a clip. I wonder when they will show it now. Perhaps they plan to have Leah doing some shows, such as if they bring Lam Jam back.

It was quite good when they had Chums on. Back then, even though they had a stripped schedule, they had a better studio, loads of presenters, great animations and idents, many ways of communication and interaction, and what more shows each afternoon. Mainly because they shownt chums and other short programmes. Such as having one half of an angry beavers ep instead of both stories.

I'm not sure that they will change the set as it's pretty new, and I don't think they'd go to all the trouble of changing it. And I'm not sure what other set they could produce with the CiTV current design package.

Here's a blast from the past, when children's television was a whole different ball game! Very Happy

Now that is a blast from the past. My childhood sitting watching TVam when Mike used to hand over to wacaday. That's what kid's TV needs, Timmy Mallet back on!

I actually liked the Timmy Towers series that he did for CiTV, obviously the bosses didn't! I always though Tom Darville was a little Timmy Mallet.

Just think back to Wacaday. It was live, it was unscripted (well it seemed that way), it was fun, it was harmless telly, it was mad, crazy, bizarre in some aspects, yet always entertaining.

There was an interesting point that was made on a programme about kids tv hosts and where they are now.
Chris Tarrant was on and said that many a time Timmy Mallet had been offered more professional jobs in adult television, but he didn't want them and turned them down. And good for him. Timmy Mallet was a legend for my era, and I hope that he comes back into fashion soon!

Overall though. That's what we need madness on telly. We don't need a straight forward person saying "Hello boys and girls. Here's what's coming up today." We need madness, crazyness, something that's talked about and people love. Something different, quirky and fun harmless tv. If only the tv nowadays could provide it. They've tried with things like Mad for it, and dick & dom, but we haven't seen zany links for a while, as I said, i thought Tom was close, but now it's all samey.

I agree!!

I loved watching Timmy Mallet when I was younger; his pet bird 'Magic', Mallet's Mallet and the 'Wacawave'!

It showed that children's television doesn't all have to be about innuendo and constant gungings and pie fights (something Dick and Dom should learn from cause it's all getting a bit samey/boring). It was all good harmless fun, while at the same time feeling totally out of control.

Not sure that Timmy Mallet should return to our screens now though, think his time has been and gone! For some reason I really don't like middle-aged men in chilldren's television...and yes that does include Dave Benson Phillips and The Chuckle Brothers! Laughing

Oh I don't know. Dave Benson Phillips is good at his job, he's loud, eccentric, and extrovert, and I couldn't see Get You Own Back without him!
And the Chuckle Brothers, years after they started Chucklevision is still as funny & popular than ever, and if you've ever seen them live, you will know how hilarious they are, there innuendo is great! And I wasn't a kid when I saw them live!

I suppose GYOB is Dave B-P but I don't want to see him doing anything else on children's television (Playhouse Disney is the only exception). He just isn't a good presenter IMO, unless it's pre-school, cause he's a lot less shouty!

All credit to the Chuckle Brothers, they continue to make a lot of money off the back of their programme, I just don't like them. Tired, dull, unimaginative...time to move over and get some new blood in.

Dick and Dom could be the new Chuckle Brothers. Confused

I dont think Dick & Dom could be as successful as the chuckle brothers. Dick & Dom are great on live tv. In a sitcom type programme I don't think they would transfer well. Just like the chuckle brothers, they are great when they are up infront of an audience or performing, where as I doybt they'd be any good with earpieces and counts on live tv.

Anyway. Back to CiTV. Should I rename this thread? And if so what to? Simply the CiTV thread, or the CiTV & Ministry of Mayhem thread?

Not long until the Ministry of Mayhem starts now, and I've still yet to see any promotion for it. Surely they wouldn't do a low key launch, would they?

CiTV comes back on air, with live links (hopefully) on monday. I hope we get more link time, if we get any at all. And maybe a few changes, like a new start up ident.

I've seen the trailer for the new Bernard's Watch. At first I thought the graphics were just for the trailer with that mad teacher, but then they cut to clips of the show. I like the magic beam thing that passes over everything and freezes it, rather than them just freezing the picture. At the start of the trailer with the mad teacher bernard presses the classic watch. But then later on in the actual clips we see him with a fancy watch, the watch that the original Bernard was given for when he went over to America, they then took it off him when he came back to the UK.

I wonder if this is going to be a co production, like seriously wierd. English kid with american friends. I quite like the idea of them doing co productions with other countries networks as more money can be put in, and a better programme can come out of it. Just look at seriously wierd. Great writing, great acting, great special effects. I'd rather that the CiTV of the future did more of this than join up with another UK children's broadcaster.

I don't find different countrys joining up for kids productions very good - it's somewhat un-realistic.

I hated Timmy Mallet and the Chuckle brothers. Chucklevision is most certainly not as popular as it used to be, thats why it's moved to CBBC mornings so early and why CBBC channel have it on when kids are at school - there seen as total naff by the kids.

I loved Nick AM! In my opinion, I much preffered Matt Brown doing it to Miek McLean. The best presenter on Nick AM - was the first, I forget his name now though! He presented The Big Breakfast when he left Nick and was one of there first presenters.

Why do you find them unrealistic? Aren't they better value for money? As each company puts in half of what they would have put in themselves? Some things are good British. But if CiTV are looking for an escape route I'd prefer to see more joint ventures with different production companies than the CiTV name wiped dor an itv Disney, or Nick itv. And what would we gain from that? Stripped schedules again, the same shows everyday of the week? More imports than ever? And the lose of a well known, well loved brand that's been around for 21 years.
I wouldn't mind if they just joined them so that each side put in half of the money towards producing programmes and both channels show the programmes.

I do sort of agree with your point on the chuckle brothers, I can see why kids may not like them. Though they are still going strong, and filling theatres on tour. And unless you were in a children in the timmy mallet era (and were a happy wild child then) then you wouldn't know and like Timmy Mallet.

Wasn't Mike McClean the first presenter of nick am? Mike McClean then went to present the Big Breakfast alongside Amanda Byram & Richard Bacon (and Liza Rogers for the last bit!). I can't think of any others, unless you mean.... (DUM, DUM, DUM!!!!) RICK ADAMS!?

Are any of the terrestirals planning to acquire the rights for 'Cybergirl', recently shown to death on Fox Kids?

I managed to catch a few episodes last year, while I was flicking through the SKY, & what I saw was good.

Considering I'm in my early 30's, & should be watching more intelligent fare, it held my attention! (even though it was an Aussie/German effort !)

Haven't GMTV's Up on the Roof got something going with Fox Kids at the moment? They seem to be showing a lot of their material lately. I caught Power Rangers Ninja Storm, the new series, there were two special preview eps yesturday. And they were great, going back to the early days of Power Rangers, except instead of Zordon, these had a talking Hamster.
It's a shame that CiTV can't pick up more of this stuff. Most of them are 25 minute eps, and there are a lot of eps made per series. If CiTV picked up on these they'd end up showing them for ages, just like pirate islands, which is still going. Even though going by the storyline, they could have wrapped it up weeks ago, but the production team stretched it out.
Perhaps if they are given time in the summer as they were last october half term, they could look into acquiring one or two programmes to fill these spots. Unless itv gives them any extra airtime on itv1 or some on itv2 wouldn't be bad!

Personally I think this should be renamed the Citv & MOM thread - makes sense if SM:tv had to share a thread with citv as well Wink

Also I wonder what will happen to the SM:tv website - http://www.smtvlive.co.uk .

Will it stay up forever promoting the last ever show - or will it redirect to the MOM website - much like the old live and kicking site ( http://www.bbc.co.uk/kicking ) used to redirect to the Saturday show site. Personally I'd like to see the SM;tv site back to the old version with the wonkey donkey and Challenge ant games back uo
