If only she was the one going to the ministry. Holly's great, but there is just something about Sarra, no wonder I used to watch The Saturday Show Extra.
I hope this and she comes back in April with TSS Extra. It was always great when she, Simon & Fearne used to have the chats during TSS Extra. I wonder if they would consider bringing her in as a main presenter. You don't get many shows with two women and one man, it's usually the other way around. I wonder why!

Ihaven't commented on it yet as I have been on holiday and only got back today, and only just watched the tape. All I can say is I'm very disapointed with the last show. It wasn't anywhere near as good as I expected. Secret of my Sucess was good, but the quality of writing wasn't anywhere near what it was, and the last Chums was cringeworthy. It was a few basly written links involving them going back to the flat for the last time with lots of clips from old episodes, they could have done a lot better. And them them all singing My Way at the end, Blech! Then the scene of the empty studio with Conor McAnally cleaning didn't seem the best send off the show could get. And anyone know what happened to Eminemmerdale? I know it's cringeworthy, but it's infinitly better than Spongebob that replaced it, as it's one of the worst cartoons I've ever seen. If they were going to show anything, it should have been Angry Beavers, it's something that has been on SM:TV since the very start and is still one of my personal favorites. All in all, the final SM:TV was very poor, but it was still much better than Dick & Dom will ever be, I give it 5/10.

Damn, Nick L8R won't be as good without Rani and lately I'm going more and more off the channel.
Anyway.. I really do wonder who these new CiTV presenters will be. One fimilar face and another probably new-comer?
I can't imagine what Ministry of Mayhem will be like!

Oh and fanoftv.. you're so right about Sara! The only reason I watch Saturday Extra was because of her. She just seems really nice, looks good and her accents nice - alot like BB2's Helen.

She is lovely! Great and talented. For some reason I could imagine her presenting the big breakfast, its a shame it ended.
I've conjured up an image in my mind of Ministry of Mayhem being a bit like Noel's House Party. Set in a ministry/house/mansion or something with screaming kids.
Two balconey's on each side, east wing & west wing, who (in 50/50 style) play games against each other during the show. With a live band, one more like Jool's Holland's, than the Saturday Show's.
My mind, what a great place, where everything works, ideas flow, and I am the biggest star! Oh well!

When I think of "Ministry of Mayhem", all I can think of is a place full of graves that is really wacky.

Thanks Robin for these!. I found a episode from around summer this year with Tess, Brian and Des and Shivagaun(?) with the 2003 theme, I and I was wondering what the 2003 sounded like a few days ago I had forgotten what it sounded like.

I thought this would be a good excuse to once again upload all the versions I have of the SMTV theme this time with some extra additions
SMTV 1998: The Interfearance CDUK theme used in show 3. The original version had "Wake Up, It's Saturday sung over it.
SMTV 1998-B: Original Steve Brown theme used from show 4 until August 1999.
SMTV 1999: The familiar theme used from September 1999-September 2001 and again in the last few months.
SMTV 2001: Used from September to November 2001
SMTV 2001-B: Used until the relaunch in March of this Year.
SMTV 2003: The short lived theme to coincide with the arrival of Des and Shavaughn
And also I have two of the seasonal variants.
SMTV Xmas 1: Used in 1999 and 2000
SMTV Xmas 2: Used in 2001 and 2002
Enjoy!

I can't remember much about sound effects on the titles as I didn't take much notice, but I can never remember the alarm clock buzzing. As far as I remember the music just started as the time changed to 9:25. I just find it funny that the original titles have been used with 2 different theme tunes, with no less than 6 varients (9 if you include Xmas)- 2 on the original tune (which CD:UK are still using a remix of now), and 4 on the more recoignisable one, with a 5th varient with the Mar-Sep 2003 titles. I always wondered what relevance the characters in the titles had to the show, they only existed on the studio walls and on astons. Though I don't really think there's much difference between version 3 (1998-99) and 4 (1999-2001) of the music apart from a bit of remixing and extra sound effects. The 3rd version does flood back memories of the improvised, poorly held together show that I remember so fondly though. Funnily enough, until the 2003 relaunch, I never really noticed any difference between the theme tunes just from watching, it's only having them here for download that I can actually tell. I shuold at least be able to tell betwen the 1998-2001 versions and the 2001-2003 ones seeing as they pissed about with it so much and made it sound dreadful.
Though I also liked the early format of the show. It wasn't as good as the later format IMO, but the first year or so was still hugely watchable and entertaining. It was something new & different compared to L&K which seemed to be very samey, even with Zoe & Jamie. I preferred SM:TV over it the whole time (though I did not watch SM:TV for a few weeks in early 1999 after we first got cable, the novelty wore off quickly, mainly becuase Cartoon Network repeat everything so often), obviously when SM:TV relaunched and L&K came back with Steve & Emma, it was obviously the best choice by far. It's a shame that it became so bad, though as has been said especially after watching the final show, it was much more the writing that let it down rather than who was fronting it.

The original one, I'm sure had all of the sound effects, clock, boing's and dog bark on it, along with the 'Wake Up, Saturday' lyrics. On show 3 they took away all of this leaving just the music along with the titles, though the music still fits in with the ep.3 titles and the music changes when each part of the titles starts. I think the idea was to use the two versions of the one tune to create the link between the two.
I think I am the only person who quite liked the format and liveliness and freeness on air of the first few shows. True, i don't think it was right for saturday morning, but the set, titles, music (original, cd:uk type), and the way that the show was loosly based on the script would be great for an afternoon.

A monestry I guess!
Found a site of that old friday show called "Mad For It" - http://www.carltontv.co.uk/data/madforit/index.html
Didn't Yolly used to present it?
Anyone seen ads for the new Bernard? It looks SO different! Looks more modern, then the old fashioned way it was.
