Slight problem there - The OFCOM Channel 3 contracts!
GMTV is contracted to be on air 3hours and 25 mins everyday (primarily between 0600 and 0925 except in cases on sport/any other important national event/news - then GMTV still has to show 3hrs 25 mins on that day as soon as possible).
Toonattick is completely funded by GMTV, whilst SS is only funded by ITV and GMTV does not fund anything towards it. GMTV only sells advertising time for SS on the Citv Channel.
The only time when GMTV and the ITV Network shared costs over a programme was when the both aired The Disney Club (shown between 0830 and 1100 on Sunday's).
If you notice when ITV show F1 during early mornings on Sunday, GMTV is actually delayed until after the race and then GMTV is actually on for the full allocated time (3hrs 25 mins)

Heres how it should work, SS/MOM 8:30-10:30 and CD:UK 10:30-11:20 and then Love Island Fanzine11:20- 11:30 and then the cooking show.

Or sometimes if they loose an hour they'll get it back the next week, they've quite often finished at 9.55 on Sundays.
I'm fairly sure this issue is not as important as it used to be, for all concerned. If ITV and GMTV came to an agreement; Saturday Showdown could start at 9, and GMTV could have an extra 25 minutes on Sunday for example.

CD:UK isn't ITV's show anymore.

As it will now only be on the CITV Channel, it wouldn't appear under ITV Day would it?

Its offcial, Saturday Showdown is officially axed, the listings for August and September do not show Saturday Showdown being under ITV Day. September looks half done however its not to be seen on the list for August.

Probably. I'm sad to see Holly & Stephen go as I think they're brilliant but I was never a great fan of the show. It had it's highlights here and there but it was no SM:tv. Now I know it would be hard to match Ant, Dec and Cat's heyday but I really believe Holly & Stephen could have done had they been given the right format. Maybe if SM:tv had stayed on with them both, things would be so different now...
Then again, wouldn't have put it past ITV to have even axed a strong SM:tv if it was still around!
Maybe the MOM/Saturday Showdown team will take the show elsewhere - hey, it's working for CD:UK

That may be why its not on there then. I wonder how they'll announce the final airing on ITV tomorrow? anyone wanna bet they'll announce it in the same way as Michael leaving and the name change of the show?

We'll never get anything like SM:TV again. ITV clearly aren't prepared to put that sort of money into Saturday Morning shows anymore. I don't think we're ever going to see the lives of a decent Saturday Morning show again, where it ge in the style of Tiswas, Going Live, Live & kicking or SM:TV live. It's all gone down to low quality, low budget filler programmes now.

I bet they won't mention it until right at the end where they will say something like "Join us next week at 9.25 that's on the CITV Channel, and join us over there now for Saturday Showdown Extra, bye" blink and you'll miss it style
It's also the last SS Extra tommorow as obviously from next week the whole show is technically 'Extra'!
It'll also be the last showing of the likes of Spongebob/Drake and Josh etc as they don't have digital rights, so it'll be Grizzly Tales and Bratz etc
