I think it may also have had something to do with the show being a bit of a shadow of it's former self and not doing very well since the relaunch. Still that's just my view. Kind of ironic that just one week earlier TOTP Reloaded is also ending and it's uncertain whether it'll come back as it's cheaper for CBBC to do one long Saturday show - as seen with the 2hr45 Mighty Truck Of Stuff!

Also Popworld as we know it is ending soon so it really is end of an era for Saturday morning music shows!

Not done since well since the relaunch? Are you talking in terms of ratings here because if you are then I can't see the difference between how it's being performing since September and when it was hosted by Cat Deeley. The viewing figures are either the same or even more than when Cat was presenting it - why didn't ITV axe it with her? Oh I know - she's one of their primetime gems!
No Holly this week so they had someone standing in, that's the problem of having the presenters names in the programme name. No sign of Sniff for most of the show and no sign yet of the Doc this week.
Edit: I suspect the assistant for the Showdown extra game of 'Play your Farts right' is Peter Cocks. There's something about the appearance and humour of 'Egor' that is similar to the Doc.

Aint it just Simon & Miquita or whatever her name is leaving?

Yes but fans of the show have said it might as well be ending now they're leaving.
I think that it was actually Scratch puppeteer Don Austen that played the bloke in Play you farts right.
INTERESTING FACT: The game 'Play Your Farts Right' was originally advertised back in the early days of Ministry of Mayhem (as it was back then), as they asked the viewers to send in their own farts, and if my memory serves me right a fartline, as the three of them (Michael included) joked about viewers having one brewing, and running to the phone to phone them and hold it to their bottom.
Its a shame that Holly is off, but they need to take holiday at some point, and Nicki Sanderson did an excellent job, much better than I would have thought. The guests were a bit rubbish in my opinion, but they were from Harry Potter, I suppose thats the only reason that they were there to get the popularity of the film into the showdown.
I still think it would work so much better with a team of boys and a team of girls, rather than the winning one only.
It does still seem like they are making an effort now Dick & Dom have gone, though it is the point that MoM grew last year.
As for extra, I think that extra should become like a behind the scenes rather than an extra show, just for the fact that the scores will go up massively, which is a bit unfair if a team wins a point in 20 minutes.
I do think that they should have the crew cheering or something, without
the audience, it lacks a liveliness really. I think Dick & Dom managed through it being chaotic and the music choice. The Showdown fades on with a low subtle background music, its a bit ropey in a way.
No doubt the show will improve, and most probably relaunch either during the summer or in September ready for the BBC's new show.

All the above is true, they even showed a small VT of random people listening to a fart sound and a crew member filming their reactions to it!. Did they even play this game the week after? i dont remember them playing it the week after they advertised it.
Hopefully they'll phase out the boys V girls format and return to the format they had in 2005. The current format is just like MOM if you dont include the boys V girls format which im not much a fan of.

No they didn't play the game on MOM after 2 or 3 weeks advertising it. I didn't like this weeks show as much as the past few weeks, I don't think the guests really made any effort to join in much. Also, they still played Dodge Dollys Balls, even though Holly was off, so they must have 2 players in the studio on the phone to play that part. It says on the website they can call you to take part, so they could invite 2 people down to play that, or maybe use the key winners.
And where was the Doc this week? I thought he was back for good!
