Well I have just heard the presenter on CD:UK hotshots advising that this saturday's episode of CD:uk is the penultimate one. So it is coming to an end.
Does anyone know what it is replacing it or are we going to get more film/US Drama repeats for about 40years ago!!!!!!!!!! etc... or even a lunchtime version of ITV Play, or even an extended version of Saturday Showdown...
IMHO I would love to see the return of The Chart Show - never replaceable decent music show - and cheapish to make (no audience or presenters!!!!!)

As part of the deal which has seen Anthony Worrall Thompson move to ITV, he's supposed to be presenting a Saturday morning cookery show on ITV1. Where can that go in the schedule then ?
Are ITV about to dump pop for cookery ?
Personally, I'd prefer a return of The Roxy, the Tyne Tees music show. (Sorry, has this been done to death now ?)

Yes - Broadcastnow say it'll go in the same slot as it did/does on BBC One, so that'll be the old CD:UK slot then.

ITV has signed BBC1's successful Saturday Kitchen host chef Antony Worrall Thompson as part of a £5m programming deal.
Worrall Thompson, who has fronted Saturday Kitchen for the BBC for the past four years, will now make a similar show for ITV1's own Saturday schedule for the next two years.
It is set to launch in the autumn and will fill the slot left vacant by CD:UK, which comes off air next month.
Prospect Pictures, the company behind Saturday Kitchen, will produce the show as part of a double commission, which also includes new daytime shows for the TV chef. The Saturday morning show will be 40 x 90 minutes while the weekday show will have a 30 x 60-minute run, which is believed to be ITV's biggest daytime deal with an indie.
The deal is a hammer blow for BBC1 which has enjoyed big ratings for Saturday Kitchen, which pulls in an audience of 1.5 million (23%).
ITV director of factual and daytime Alison Sharman, who commissioned the show, said: "In Worrall Thompson we have got one of the country's most respected chefs, who through his engaging and warm style will bring a loyal audience to Saturday mornings."
A BBC spokesman said that the corporation would still continue to make Saturday Kitchen but with a different host.
ITV outshining themselves again
Do they really think the bunch of kids who were just watching Showdown will want to be going straight into a 90 minute cookery show?!
Apparently, CDUK was axed because of budget problems within the network - that's a laugh! £5 million for what promises to be one very dull show for young people - somehow I'm doubting CDUK was as much of a money problem!

Sorry if this sounds rude, but how do you know so much about ITV and CDUK?

Makes the beeb moving CBBC over to BBC2 basically for Saturday Kitchen look a bit daft.
No particular replacement for CD:UK in the next three weeks, just old children's films and acquired stuff.

No, they want them to watch Showdown Extra on the CITV Channel and then stay there all day.
Saturday Kitchen was very popular, with higher ratings than the children's programming on BBC2 or ITV1
Why are we discussing Saturday Kitchen in this thread anyway!

Very good points actually - I think I let opinion get in the way of fact. I'm just a little bit peeved that they're willing to throw so much money on this new show when they axed CDUK because of 'financial difficulties'.
And we're discussing Saturday Kitchen in this thread in the context of its former presenter fronting a similar programme now on ITV where CDUK's slot used to be.
