There are presenters in the early morning preschool programming but otherwise, no, there will not be in-vision presenters on the CITV Channel. This has been a feature of CITV on ITV1 for 18 months now and we believe it's one of the creative choices that makes CITV distinctive.

yes but most people don't want it to be distinctive.

How the heck does it make them distinctive? Every other bloody children's channel (apart from the BBC's offerings) doesn't have in-vision presenters either. So surely by them opting for in-vision presenters then they'll be distinctive. What a poor excuse. It's not as if they're exactly strapped for cash.

i missed uncle dad because of the footie, i hope to catch it next week though

It was a bizzare first episode. Basically there are 5 children, their mother dies, there father deserted them all before the youngest was born. All of the other Aunties and Uncles couldn't cope. So they ended up at their last Uncle's.
It was either him or the orphan home.

He didn't want anything to do with any of them, lived in a house filled with exotic animals (he was a scientist), and then he could have been evicted, etc
It's not the most bizare idea as far as "Protagonist(S) live elsewehere following family death" Thing I've heard.

It's up there certeanly, though.

Distinguishes them from CBBC and CBeebies though - who are their main competition - and only competition on Freeview.

And if it's a choice between the calibre of presenters on CBBC and none at all - well CITV have made the right choice!

CITV was simulcast on GMTV2 Kids this morning, with the CITV DOG and idents. Is this going to be permanent? Or is this for the Sky and NTL viewers until CITV is launched? Then maybe ITV2 could have the 6.00-9.35 slot back.

EDIT*
Monday: I just saw the old ident on ITV1. Why is this?
Tuesday: They now have the new ident on ITV1.

Can the ratings really be compared to the other channels when they they aren't even on the same service, for example, freeview have less channels but more viewers, and in the oposite side of things Sky/NTL have more channels but less viewers.

Anyway, I've just watched the second ep of aliens on the channel, and this channel needs to be sorted quickly.
Just within the half an hour they've had low sound which then had the sound of two trails played over the top (at normal level), the adverts aired with a trailer for Art Attack (saying tomorrow at 4), Aliens returned with no sound for the first couple of minutes, and then at the end of aliens they played a menu for tomorrow contradicting itself saying that Animal Spies would be on at 4, not art attack.

I don't mind channels being pre prepared, but surely someone should be there in charge of playout, such as making sure everythings plaed out in the right order, etc. and adding an apology when something goes wrong.

Personally I'd love to see them have presenters, but I doubt that they will anytime soon anyway, especially until they know how ratings are going and then they may invest in more original programming and presenters, you never know.

School holidays may be the time when things begin to be looked at. They won't pull in the ratings having tots programmes on in the day.

I would personally (maybe later in the year), time shift ITV Play to run in the evening also (surely thats where they make the most money) and then seperate the channels into CITV and little CITV (although it would be called CITV Tots or something

They only problem would most probably be the an increase in budget, even though they could fill the channels with repeats if they wanted to.

As for GMTV Kids, I think it was part of the deal for them to go under the CITV umbrella. I presume that when the channel is on all platforms that they will use ITV2 for something else, though what else is unclear unless they sell it back to ITV.

Not seen the channel yet, so I can say much. I always thought they should bring back Teley Tots as a younger kids channel for Citv.

His weekly outings with 9-year old Luke (William Howe) are always hilarious and unpredictable. Whatever they do, wherever they go, it’s chaos, disaster and great, great fun! Already a huge success on CITV afternoons, there’s another chance to catch up with Max as he brings his silent world of physical comedy, visual gags and quirky ideas to the CITV channel.

Feel the Fear reveals their ‘caught on camera’ behaviour as each week Holly and Steve take it in turns to face their particular phobias with the guidance of popular TV psychologist Anjula Mutanda. Every episode opens with a phonecall which reveals the fear they will challenge their co-host to face. Will it be sharks, spiders, rats – or maybe heights, rollercoasters or flying? Holly and Steve will have their heart rate monitored to gauge the extent of their fear. Feel the Fear is packed full of interesting facts about how fear works and where our phobias come from, as well as revealing insights about the presenters from their friends and family, including Stephen Mulhern, and video diary footage from Holly and Steve themselves. Feel the Fear is not a battle of physical prowess but of mind over matter and determination to conquer fear. Holly Willoughby vs Steve Wilson – who will be the bravest?

I'm surprised to see Sooty and How 2 coming back for new runs, I was under the impression that both shows had been axed, due to the fact they haven't been on the main CITV slot for some time now.

I personally wouldn't mind seeing Thames' episodes of The Sooty Show, but I can't see ITV digging them out, and probably wouldn't interest today's youngsters.

It's a new series of How 2 (as it just went on a year-long 'break') but it just sounds like it's going to be repeats of episodes of Sooty Heights.
