Damn, I completely forgot about the 20th Birthday Bash. This week has gone way too fast and I completely forgot it was Friday until the evening! Sad

The other ident they seemed to show an awful lot of was the Generic 89 one. Do they really like it or something?

Dunno, very curious as CITV wasn't even made by Central int hat era!

Yes I thought The 20th CiTV Birthday was really good!! I was glad to see the people who have made CiTV In the past!

Lots of talk of "Children's ITV", the fact the programme was based in Birmingham and recorded/live continuity.

Interesting that all the ex-presenters said how it was nice to be back.... despite the fact it's a diffrent building from the one they did Childrens ITV from. And the pre-recorded ones were done in Soho, not Birmingham.

The show was good, too much comtemporary stuff to keep the kids happy (The CITV 2002 Trivia Quiz for example) and far too much 'Oh look at him his hairstyle's changed slightly over the last 12 years' and 'oh the 80's weren't they awful'

I bet all those kids were actors. How can young kids of that age remember Grotbags and "There's somebody at the door!"

Nice to see a bit of No.73 as well!

Noticed a lot of credit at the end went to Carlton though Grr! Evil or Very Mad

Probably not actors, just normal kids who the production team told what to do at that point.

Also did anyone else notice the kid who was almost in tears after Grotbags pushed his face into the cake mix? Bless him, probably hadn't a clue who Grotbags was

A very early clip and not very representative of the programme though

Very true. Was No.73 just shown on TVS at first or collection of southern ITV stations? I'm sure it was on HTV from the start!

It was a magnificent spectacular show. Well done CITV. I was fearing that it might just be restricted to a few links, but they really made the effort and it was very nostalgic. Great to see Scally, Jeanne, Tea-Bag, Roland Rat, Gary Terza, Matthew Kelly and clips of some class shows including On-Safari (a personal favourite). Grotbags as usual was fabulous, I love that woman.

Hurrah for CITV and for Central & Birmingham for creating an institution that isn't London centric.

By the look at It CiTV want to bring back viewers!

They have a new presenter called Tim,
A new website coming soon at itv.com/CiTV.

When CBBC changed Its look and had a new channel I think CiTV viewers turned to them!

I really enjoyed the show. It was one of those times where you are desperately thinking back trying to get you're mind in order.

Sadly, I failed. I have some sort of weird selective memory it seems, because the only presentation I can clearly remember was 'network control' which was at a time when I was still very young. I watched most of the programmes they showed during the late eighties and early nineties, but must have completely switched off inbetween them. Was the era with Scally and that woman always such bad quality, or were they showing audition tapes there? It looked terrible.

Nice to see Grotbags again. My family always used to take the mickey out of me for being scared of her. I think I was quite within my rights to be petrified...

Sadly, a lack of Tommy Boyd, and not even a mention of Clive Warren. And Neil Bucchanon's hair hasn't changed at all! What an odd bit of VT that was.

A question, though... Who co hosted motomouth with Neil and Gabby? I didn't recognise him.

ISTR it was a guy called Steve Johnson on Motormouth.

Wonder why there was no No73 in the Buchannon's Barnet montage?

I really enjoyed the show too - it certainly brought back some memories for me! Very well done. Smile
