The only way that is possible if there used one that come from the DVD which holds 13 episodes
Aren't there 29 broadcast quality episodes of the UK version at the BFI? (Or is that bunkum?)
Is it correct that the non-region specific below-ground stuff common to all versions (I.e. the puppets which could be easily dubbed) were made at the TVS studio in Gillingham? (a converted theatre built to fill the gap before the Maidstone studio centre was built, but which carried on in parallel for a number of years after)
Or did they only record the UK specific above-ground stuff there?
(ISTR that Henson did stuff in the UK a lot. The Muppets was made in the ATV Elstree studios, now BBC Elstree)

UK bits were all above ground. Bfi claims to have very amount but I do know of a guy who is trying ti get a complete copy of all the episodes, via private sources etc to make sure it's not lost.
Disney IS to blame, and family channel usa.

Disney isn't really to blame. This page lists the archive status of the episodes.
Jim Henson did do a lot of productions in the UK, there was the Storyteller produced with TVS which I think was completely made in the UK and a few specials. I think the below ground Fraggle Rock stuff was shot in Canada though.

The Jim Henson Company, still own it or did it get sold off to Disney? Strange thing is TVS catchphrase is safe in that warehouse in KENT, along with a few other TVS gems but Fraggle rock which never belong to them was not kept safe. ONLY reason I have been able to come up with is, in 1991 TVS past all its kids productions and department to STV, since RF was finished STV never took it over, why would there.

Disney only have distribution rights for Fraggle Rock, along with anything else Jim Henson made before 1991. They also bought the Muppets and Bear in the Big Blue House from them.
