It's not often I praise ITV, but I give them a pat on the back for their efforts this weekend considering how children's television is looking on both ITV and BBC One. It's worrying how I can sit here as a 21 year old and still fully enjoy the likes of How 2, Sooty and Co and Finders Keepers... I don't remember Rosie and Jim being that rubbish, though.

It was the longer Rosie and Jim that went out at 12:10 on Mondays I still remember running off from school to watch it. Very Happy

Really exceeded expectations. Often when you watch old programmes after a long time, you realise that they aren't as good as you remembered. This wasn't the case this weekend.

Good, strong, intelligent storylines for the dramas, something that modern children's TV just doesn't have. Even some programmes for grown-ups isn't as good.

Noted some of the promos for upcoming CITV shows aired over the weekend. Canimals? That ain't going to be praised in 30 years time...

Thank you,

I believe it was only used twice over the whole weekend, unless it was used at 09.25? then it might get bumped up to 4 times.

I'm amazed the resident Twitter pervs haven't uploaded the Fearne Cotton limbo moment from Finger Tips earlier.

Amazed and disappointed. Razz Embarassed

Shouldn't this be in the requests forum?

But, as you did ask so nicely, here are some images for you. Personally, they do nothing for me. Click for larger versions.

What's the story behind "A Scottish Television production for TVS"? Why not just a Scottish production or a TVS production?

It's also notable how much of a powerhouse Scottish were. That thistle logo used to be a regular feature on ITV, whereas now, and for many years you never see any of the more modern STV logos.

It does occasionally pop up on the BBC - Antiques Road Trip, for example.

I don't want to make money out of it and I don't have yesterdays Mike and Angelo that's when the sky box failed Sad

What is your YT channel?

I am gonna make one.

AFAIK new YouTube users are limited to uploads of 15 minutes. I'm not sure what the review process is to allow you to upload longer videos.

It personally annoys me when people make generalised statements like this. I agree that not ALL children's dramas these days are worth writing home about, but if you were to watch the most recent series of Tracy Beaker Returns (to use one example) I think you'd find it was definitely full of good, strong and intelligent storylines. It can also be quite hard hitting at times and isn't afraid to tackle issues. Sure, there are lots of dramas and comedies that aren't up to the same level, but that's always been the case and they'll be quickly forgotten.

It's too easy to criticise modern children's TV when you have a much better knowledge of "classic" children's output.

Back on topic, I absolutely loved this weekend's output on CITV. I don't think it would work regularly, but as an annual 'event' I think there's definitely scope to do the same again.
