What's the story behind "A Scottish Television production for TVS"? Why not just a Scottish production or a TVS production?

It's also notable how much of a powerhouse Scottish were. That thistle logo used to be a regular feature on ITV, whereas now, and for many years you never see any of the more modern STV logos.

When TVS lost it's franchise a deal was made with Scottish Television to carry on making its shows, which is why Scottish Television made a lot more shows than it normally would have done. As we have seen today How2 was originally a TVS Production until the end of 1992 when production carried on but made by Scottish.

In the case of What's Up Doc as TVS had the contract to produce the Live Saturday show, which would continue after the end of the franchise period, Scottish made the show on behalf of TVS until DEcember 1992, and then it became a full Scottish Television production from Janaury 1993

Add to that, Hence the reason why many of the TVS era tapes from show which went to STV are safe since there all went off to Glasgow. STV come along in late 1991( when Nigal Pickard moved). He had an office at Maidstone, that office stayed for 4 years until it closed in 1995. I was told there was alot of confused car drivers, driving down the M20 with a sign " Scottish Television"

Was the "deal" simply a result of Nigel Pickard being recruited by Scottish from his post at TVS, which was about to disappear? I suspect Scottish had an eye on the amount of network spots they could pick up...

Was Metal Mickey ever shown on CITV?
No - it predates the branding.

To be fair a number of the programmes from this weekend were shown outside of the traditional CITV slot - the lunchtime pre-school slot was never really branded CITV, and Super Gran was Sunday afternoons.

It definitely was for the period up to when it was dropped. CITV idents with no voiceover in to Tots TV - can very clearly remember that.

But a number of the lunchtimes shows were repeated again at 4pm? When did CITV ident start getting played out at 09.25? I know it deffo went out in 1991....

As long as you haven't monetised it, the worst that can happen is that they ask for it to be taken down.

I'm not a lawyer.

It's not often I praise ITV, but I give them a pat on the back for their efforts this weekend considering how children's television is looking on both ITV and BBC One. It's worrying how I can sit here as a 21 year old and still fully enjoy the likes of How 2, Sooty and Co and Finders Keepers... I don't remember Rosie and Jim being that rubbish, though.
