The best bet is to run certain shows in blocks, perhaps on ITV3 (or even ITV2) on bank holidays. I doubt many watching Press Gang today would commit to a weekly or daily rerun, but stick a series on back to back on one day and people will probably end up watching one then another then another then another.

I think it was the most enjoyable seeing Finder's Keepers. It always seems to get forgotten when either talking about Neil Bucannan (in favour of Art Attack) or CITV game shows (in favour of Fun House) even though I always prefered FK over both.

Children's Ward was disappointing that there was no young Corrie stars in it. Knightmare was not quite as I remember, I never knew there was so much dialogue between the kids & the characters.

Presentation was good in that there were hardly any credit squeezes and frontcaps/endcaps were kept on. A few old CITV idents, maybe on shows that didn't have frontcaps would have put the icing on the cake.

Hopefully it'll become a yearly event, next time maybe even starting Saturday with an episode of SM:TV Live.

I doubt a full episode of SM:TV would be seen on television today. Ant and Dec bought all of the rights to the shows they were in for the sole reason of preventing them being on television. I can only assume they let their hair down on occasions such as this, but baring in mind the rights issues with the likes of Pokemon, I can't see it happening. Don't get me wrong. I'd love to see it!

It's certainly been a massive success online, trending most of the day on twitter.

Talking of which, worth checking out CITV scheduler Matt Bowen's twitter for reaction etc.

ITV actually have the first run rights to Pokemon, so no problem there.

I doubt they have Sabrina, nor would they want to show it in this context, they could easilly cut out the shows from SM:TV though. I suppose half the problem would be finding an episode that was typical & featured all the sketches that were well known. I.e you could get an episode with a good Chums but a poor Wonkey Donkey, and maybe some sort of forgotten sketch rather than a Cat the Dog or Anty & Decy that people remember.

Wasn't Ant & Dec buying up their old back catalogue 'to stop it being shown' a joke? Wasn't it more to ensure it was in safe hands as the production companies went bust. They seem quite happy to embrace their past, they seem to encourage it.

Definitely, seeing as they introduce a few clips on their website:

Some endcaps from Todays shows, I've brushed out the Old Skool logo and colour corrected it where possible.

I'll have some more once I got the rest of the recordings off the hard drive, I didn't get the Tyne Tees one I'm afraid Sad
