Documentary being made but where is it going to air? (September 2012)

I quite enjoyed it though I had a feeling it wouldn't be enjoyed so much on here. It could have done with a bit more structure, it seemed to jump all over the place in terms of time which was a bit draft. SMTV and MOM should have been at the end rather than the beginning.

It was good to see a fair few adverts for CITV during the breaks including a few new shows (but are they British made?).

Now in true TVF anorak mode does anyone know where Fun House was filmed because in the clips they showed today the ceiling above the studio audience had the kind of tiles you'd expect in some miserable office rather than a studio!

It was made by Scottish Television, so I'm guessing Cowcaddens?

It's been said many a time, Fun house was filmed in Scottish tv Glasgow studios. Studio one of cowcadden which also played host to wheel of fortune.

btw, Is the Roy Henry from Norn Iron who speaks to Rory and Miss Shouty Woman on the 'phone the same one who posts on here sometimes?

Also note that that clip is from that strange period when they went with daily stripped schedules. This meant that they burnt off brand new series within only a week or two which didn't seem like a good idea.

From at least the second season, it was on Wednesdays.

During March 1985 Uncle Travelling Matt did one month of live presentation for CITV, a UK children's afternoon programming block. A Live-Hand Muppet version of Matt, performed by Dave Goelz, was used for these appearances. Matt would announce all the children's programming, except Fraggle Rock itself. Each Wednesday afternoon just before the show was broadcast, Matt would somehow be distracted and remain unaware his fellow Fraggles were on TV.

On Granada it was always Saturday and never during the week!

You're wrong, unlike it's predecessor Watch It, CITV was always networked, so maybe what you're remembering is a rerun?

I didn't think it was completely networked, hence some programmes being introduced as "a surprise".

I did enjoy it, and it was nice to see Ant and Dec so enthusiastic about SMTV even now because that was my era of childrens TV, but It lacked structure and it was too focused on current ITV celebrities. Even when they interviewed Matthew Kelly, they had just to remind the viewers he did Stars in their Eyes as if him being on Childrens ITV didn't make him important enough to be interviewed. Same with Biggins, although choosing his show was weird as it's not a show i've even heard of. I know time was short, but they spent so much time on Ant & Dec and Children's Ward that they could have given more time to other some other programmes and presenters. The likes of Tommy Boyd and Danielle Nichols weren't even mentioned. Though i really liked the sections on How 2 and Sooty. Nice to see Sooty still going strong.

I think given a couple or 3 specials, it could have been really good. Still, decent effort and it's nice to see they're plugging new content on the CITV Channel.

Nope, I was a big fan of Fraggle Rock and know it was never shown during the week. It was always a weekend programme.

I know this for a fact as it was one fo the few occassions the whole family was at home having the evening meal at the dinner table!!!

An enjoyable watch but it’s a shame it was only an hour. Take out the ads, the intro, summary, coming up and recap and you’re actually left with little time to cover three decades of kids TV. It could easily have been a three part series covering a different theme each week. I guess it was better to focus on a select number of shows you could get interviews for rather than a whistle-stop clip show style programme. A touch disappointing from a pres point of view - maybe they can throw in a few memories next weekend.

From watching a few episodes it looks almost like the audience is sitting in another room connected to the studio with the wall taken out? The set for Fun House was huge after all!

The documentary was massively disappointing partly ruined by the loud background music.

I agree, but not for that reason. It could have easily been 90min long and had more details. There mist out most of the Saturday mornings. like Motermouth, Whats up doc, Saturday show, etc.

Where did there there get the paper work to broadcast those TVS shows Wink

Nic Ayling was mentioned in the credits so I would think there lies your answer
