I thought ITV were planning to put that Ant and Dec Special on Christmas Day? I can't see that anywhere. And although dramas like Poirot do very well for ITV even on an ordinary weeknight, I was expecting them to come up with something slightly more festive for the 9pm slot.

Victoria Wood's going to be on Christmas Eve, I think. You don't want to overload Christmas Night with stuff and it's probably better it goes out in primetime on another night than at half ten or something on Christmas Day. That'd just be a waste.

Shouldn't the "big guns" be rolled out on Christmas Day itself though? I don't know where that schedule posted above came from, but it seems odd that they would swap Catherine Tate and Victoria Wood round - IIRC the Tate show was listed as being on Christmas Eve in the provisionals and Wood was - rightly so - in the main 9pm timeslot on Christmas Day. They're both great but compared Wood is much more of a "big gun" in terms of quality.

Once again the main terresital channels live up to expectactions and produce sleep inducing programmes Rolling Eyes - apart from one or two I think the TV will be staying firmly off.

It is quite a very safe and pedestrian lineup for BBC1. Nothing particularly major like Wallace and Gromit last year or the Only Fools specials, just a few Christmas specials of the usual programmes with no shocks or surprises.

And just how many times has The Santa Clause been on now?!

it's the Crap 1994 version, and not the Dudley more 1984 one.

You are (stupidly) confusing "Santa Claus (The Movie)" with "The Santa Clause". Two completely different movies which, unsurprisingly given their content, get a healthy airing most Yuletides.
