Agatha Christie's Poirot on Christmas Day that is the BEST there can come up with? I hope STV will opt out !
I'm sure I read somewhere that it's not Poirot being shown, but a new episode of Marple. The episode The Mirror Crack'd from Side to Side I think is being shown.

which would mean STV will have 2 hours to fill with local programmes on Christmas day
Christmas Day falls on a Friday this year - I've just been looking at Digiguide's listings which now go up to January 2nd, and the Euromillions draw is actually scheduled for late on Christmas Day - surely they won't have a draw on Christmas Day, regardless of how late it will be drawn, because most lottery outlets would be closed on the day - unless of course other Euromillions outlets across Europe are going to be open?
Yes, I know people could buy their tickets in advance - but in previous years when Christmas Day has fallen on a UK lotto draw day they've always drawn the numbers on Christmas Eve instead.

There is, unfortunately, a Euromillions Lottery draw on Christmas Day. The Lottery tereminals will indeed be closed from 7.30pm Christmas Eve so you wont be able to buy a ticket on christmas day itself. I think it is disgraceful that gambling is allowed to take place on Christmas day. can't just one day of the year be free from things like this? It is due to the gambling licencing laws being different on the continent, and because the UK is linked to the Euromillions game it is iobliged to participate. Next year when Christmas Day is on Saturday, there will be no lottery draw.
I see these old favourites, "To Be Announced" and "To Be Confirmed", are back again this year. Going by what's being offered so far, these two shows might be more interesting to watch....
