Maybe ITV has realised that airing Emmerdale in an earlier slot on Christmas day does them no favours. It never rates very well.

I bet ITV will change theirs. They probably weren't expecting Doctor Who (which is at 7pm) and thought Eastenders would be earlier.

The schedules are confirmed.

I thought only the BBC's was? ITV had a press release but that's not complete schedules. The press release doesn't mention the timeslots for the soaps. Confused

It might have rated better this year... it's often up against Doctor Who, which isn't even on Christmas Day this year.

Unusually there is a Corrie & Eastenders schedule clash on New Years Day. Both are in the 8pm slot for 1hr.

I think ITV would be better off going head to head with it on Christmas Day - I'd have thought Corrie and Call the Midwife had more of a crossover audience than Corrie and EE nowadays.

Very poor scheduling on BBC One this year again. There's not much worth watching especially when I've already watched The new Jungle Book.

I'd also watch Doctor Who but now it's on New Year's Day.

So not much to pick from. Maybe TOTP and that's it.

Watership Down, The ABC Murders, Click and Collect, a new comedy called King Gary, The Long Song, The Midnight Gang, Open All Hours, Les Miserables, Luther, Abfab The Movie are just a few of the offerings. All new and never before seen. Not everyone has seen The New Jungle Book. I haven't. I think it's a much better line up than last year.

Nice to see ITV finally airing a Christmas promo. For the last couple of weeks, they'd be focusing on their January shows and completely ignoring Christmas.
