Trailer just aired on BBC One. Christmas pres launches sometime on the 1st of December. Tagline this year appears to be ‘Wonderland’.

And I missed it because I was testing if I could watch RTE tomorrow for the Toy Show.

You can watch the Toy Show live on the RTE Player

Well at least it doesn't say Oneness anywhere on that image. But I won't get my hopes too high that it won't rear its head.

The tree looks a bit off in all captures posted up to now - slightly too blurry. Did it look wrong on screen?

That's what I was checking. Wasn't sure if the RTE player would work in the UK (considering I've heard iPlayer doesn't in Ireland)

It works - just for selected programmes - mostly news broadcasts.

And as much as a creaky institution TLLS is, it is one of the few entertainment programmes that is available 'FTA'/unblocked internationally on the RTE Player.

Yes it does work, as last year relatives in London watched it on the RTE Player with no problems.

About the The Late Late Toy Show, has any British channel did a similar programme or is it purely an Irish institution?

I don't think so - Ed Sheeran commented they should do a similar show for the UK.

I'm sure This Morning attempted something similar in the Richard & Judy days.

Even to some Irish people it's not much of an institution....

It lasts for over two hours right? And all of it is live?
