Old ads don't pay creative agencies money. The advert makers have a billion dollar industry to maintain.

NOBODY is advising Coke that the consumer wants old things regurgitated.

That's how the world turns.

I thought that may been an underlying issue... Worth a try Razz

Whilst I agree with this reasoning, it didn't stop Yellow Pages bringing back their mistletoe kissing advert year after year. I also believe that the "Andrex Duck / Slade "It's Chriiiistmaaaas" advert came back a few years after its debut. And, of course, the famous Toys R Us Magical Place advert was remade in its entirety. Ferrero Rocher also reimagined its Ambassadors Reception party advert a few times.

EDIT : AND Hellman's! (Cheers remlap! How could I forget that!)

And a classic brought back year after year. Remade with the new label.

Ooh I do like the Debenhams advert. Very nice.

Have to say compared to last years, I am very disappointed in Matalan's Christmas advert this year:

This is good news but they're leaving it a bit late again. Of course it will now be minus the great Geoffrey Hughes as Twiggy. With the absence of him and Liz Smith I hope they don't rush it and make it silly like the one where they went to Dave's parents... they need to bring it back to basics which is what it's always been about.

David Walliams said this to Rob Brydon today.

"You ruined our BBC Christmas trail shoot today. Well done. Why must there be tears every time we meet...?"

Does this mean there's going to be another celebrity type idents for BBC One this year? Last years were OK but were, in my opinion, starting to wear thin by Christmas itself.

He may have simply been filming one of the christmas promotions/trailers rather than the actual ident.

I really do hope they're not doing new celeb xmas idents again this year. They need a fresh idea this time.
