If only Channel 4 could give it some kind of repeat airing around 2pm on Christmas Day.
I agree with Brekkie, the scheduling is incredibly stupid and has been the talk of the industry. Even 8pm tonight would have been huge for them. Airing it against the Final Merlin and Double Corrie has to be one of the worst scheduling moves in years. Also the Christmas Day repeat is at Lunchtime when most families are eating or watching Top of the Pops or Toy Story on ITV1.
Yes there are lots of other chances to watch repeats but C4 has blown a rare opportunity imho.
It couldn't have asked for more in terms of promtion - an ident, the RT cover and ample of interest from all areas of the media, yet they stick a remake of a kids classic on at 8pm on the one night parents have no trouble getting their kids to bed.

I can only assume Channel 4 assumed that ITV would be airing it's usual pattern of Monday Corrie with 8pm being a gap, rather than airing an hour long special.
I assume the BBC thought the same as they've got the last ever Merlin starting 45 mins into Corrie.
EastEnders is airing at 9pm.

Both channels had time to change their schedules before they were finalised. C4 made late changes to both Christmas eve and Boxing day.
Merlin is a different audience demo to Corrie, so I doubt the BBC care too much about that clash.

Did Coca-Cola ever release this year's advert in the UK? I see they are still airing the Holidays Are Coming trucks.

Exactly, and although there are always opportunities to repeat and people can Sky+ etc. it's the people watching the first airing live which really should matter to a commercial broadcaster. It's not like C4 have had to squeeze it into the schedule - all they had to do was put it at 6.30pm then run the repeat of Heston's show later.
That said I suspect with the hype and the rather decent 6.25pm slot the original had tonight it might get it's highest ratings in a few years, though Mr Stink will undoubtedly win the slot.

Continuing with CH4 strange placing of shows, There are broadcasting " Scrooged" at 2.25pm on Christmas day, this awesome film needs a better slot than that!

I'm sure there is a reason, Brekkie, hence why it's been scheduled at 4.20pm.
And what's the point in screening the Alternative Christmas message at 4.20pm - the whole point of it has always been it's an alternative to the Queen, and hence no reason why it shouldn't air at 3pm.

I think its been like that for the past couple of years - some people want to view both, and it boosts viewing figures if the two are shown separately.

Very surprised to see ITV using the same song as is being used in the BBC one Christmas idents as the backing to the Mr Selfridge trailer! Very bizarre!

Except we heard a small part of the music in the original 10 second Mr Selfridge promos first aired back in October, long before we saw any of BBC One's christmas pres.
Its just coincidence.
