Tuesday night certainly is the first night of BBC One's christmas pres, and it will be launched by a very special One Show, which will be broadcast on big screens throughout the country.

Here's the Facebook event invitation with more details: http://www.facebook.com/events/491242717586927/

Considering Television Centre is mentioned a fair bit, I wonder if the ident will be based around that. Similar to the Strictly ident but with Christmas celebs?

For any Merlin fan, if you don't want your Christmas spoiled, record the Christmas Eve finale and watch AFTER Christmas. It is not nice Christmas Eve viewing and kids may go to bed in tears. Just a little advice.

The BBC iPlayer BBC One ident is now a Christmas sting. Haven't had time to check the other channels' idents on iPlayer...

One thing is clear to this old fogey, it's started far too early again, what's so wrong with not starting idents (and jazzing up captions - Sky Sports please note) until Christmas Eve (adjusted for weekends) The local start for all this this year would have been Saturday 22nd December.

Bah Humbug.

Because for each scrooge like yourself ( Wink ), there are probably ten people who are happy to accept that all of December (earlier in many cases) is pretty much given over to Christmas. Look in the shops, on adverts, etc... TV would stand out if it *wasn't* all Christmassy right now.
