I think the early Christmas schedules will be appearing in the papers on Thursday 29th November and the confirmed schedules coming out the first week in December.
I agree the BBC definatley need to scrap the diy/auction shows over Christmas and I hope BBC2 doesn't repeat the same old documentaries in the mornings as well such as Animal Park and Pole to Pole to name a couple. I want the BBC to treat us this Christmas.
As a fan of the old films, I would love for BBC2 to show a decent movie season as well, how about an Alfred Hitchcock season or Christmas musicals season or something along those lines.
Somehow though, I've got a gut feeling Cash in the Attic and Animal Park are going to dominate the daytime schedules this Christmas though

Christmas listings for the terrestrial channels should be available on the following dates:
Can we expect a Press Release tomorrow from the BBC regarding their Christmas schedules? Looking back over previous years, it was the same Thursday that the season was unveiled! Does anyone know?
Does anyone here know when The Mirror xmas TV guide will be out? I think it will be sometime this week but haven't seen any previews for it yet. I know it will be probably full of TBA's but at least we get a rough idea what will be shown.
Last year one paper - The Sun I think - didn't even bother with "TBA Listings" and just put a general preview in instead.
Issues start coming out earlier on Saturday (8-14 Dec), with the next one on Thursday 6 Dec (15-21 Dec) and then presumably the Christmas one (22 Dec - 4 Jan) on Tuesday 11 Dec - "or even sooner"
The truth is though that due to the nature of Christmas viewing in the last few years and how apart from Christmas Day itself it's pretty much business as usual with a splasing of tinsel, getting the Christmas TV guide isn't the event it used to be!
- Not like it used to be but still looks promising with To The Manor Born, Extras and a few new film premieres.

"Our Christmas schedule features the finest talent British television has to offer so we invite you to gather family and friends together, sit back, relax and let us entertain you – there really is something for everyone this year on BBC Television."
After the year TV has had in general you'd think the BBC would have learnt that branding a fairly "missable" Christmas line-up as "unmissable" isn't the best idea.
The days of there being several treats to look forward to at Christmas are long gone, though in recent years there's still been one or two highlights worth watching out for over the period.
Absolutely nothing in that line-up jumps out as "unmissable" to me though. I guess I'll be putting a few more DVDs on my list for Santa then!
P.S. Talking of which, considering all the fakery and deception exposed this year will Blue Peter even dare to hire an actor to play Santa this year?
Obviously, I'll wait for the detail and the reality of the shows rather than the publicity, but it doesn't bode well when a repeat from Week 51 (of the Christmas special of Not Going Out) is billed as a highlight of Week 52/1.
