I think it'll be more like this:

6.00 BBC News
6.10 My Family
6.40 EastEnders
7.10 Doctor Who
8.10 The Green Green Grass
8.45 After You've Gone
9.25 EastEnders
9.55 To The Manor Born
11.00 BBC News

What a depressing schedule, all those unfunny sitcoms. Is the revival of a 25 year old sitcom likely to be a massive hit on Christmas night ? Would be better on BBC Two I'd have thought, like the recent Allo Allo revival.

I'd have thought Strictly Come Dancing would be a cert on Christmas Day.

Are they still bothering to dig up Top of the Pops then for Christmas Day.

It seems rather pointless considering -

A - it's axed
B - The X Factor have hijacked Christmas No. 1
C - it airs around the time most people sit down to Christmas dinner.

Isn't Noel back with Christmas Presents this year - on Sky One though? The BBC usually have some sort of equivalent.

To be honest though with TV at the moment it's a bit all "bah humbug" when it comes to Christmas too - I can't really think of any shows off the top of my head that I'd really like to see get a Christmas special and be served up on Christmas Day.

BTW - BBC1 have nabbed the last episodes of Extras so I'd expect them to air probably Christmas Night / Boxing Night.

P.S. Any thoughts on who might do the C4 alternative Christmas message this year? It had better not be the bloody McGann's!

I think its Heather Mills McCartney doing the Alternative Christmas Message this year.

Might as bloody well be. Rolling Eyes

I agree that Top of the Pops is pretty much a pointless show for Christmas now, you may as well have a glorified TOTP2 instead. Hence in my fantasy schedule I put it hosted by Moyles and Blackburn.

X Factor always steals the Xmas No1 and Simon Cowell goes laughing all the way to the bank every year. There seems to be no competition now especially when the likes of Cliff are still trying to get in on the act....fat chance!

As long as the BBC show this on Christmas Eve, I'm not really bothered what else they show Smile

Hehe completely agree, wouldn't be christmas without it!! Smile

The Sun are giving away a free DVD copy with every paper tomorrow Very Happy I still prefer watching it on television when it's on though, there's something more cosy about it compared to DVDs.

Well we all know Breakfast will be on... usually with Bill Turnbull isn't it? And of course Her Maj @ 3:00.

Those early Christmas TV Guides will be out in the red top papers around the last Thursday of November... and as I learnt from my email from Channel Four today we can expect confirmation of schedules roughly a week later, ie the first few days of December, which I'm very amazed about I would have thought they'd be finalising things a bit quicker but I've learnt something today!

I agree. I can't see TTMB being given a major slot on Christmas Day.

Someone on Digital Spy emailed the BBC and they said they have no plans for a TOTP Christmas Special so don't expect anything.

Also, bookies are not taking bets on Xmas number 1, but Xmas number 2.

I reckon they'll stick a film on before The Queen then...or Cash in the Attic Christmas special. Rolling Eyes

I agree. I think this years evening Christmas Day comedy is Extras as Brekkie mentioned.
