Looks like Top of the Pops is dead and buried.

It isn't...

If TOTP is supposed to be 'dead', why keep using the name?

I saw a 100 minute TOTP 2 Xmas special listed in the Mirror's guide. Anyone know if that's definete as the recent Xmas TOTP 2 specials have been 90 mins long?

The current guides are infact a pile of poo! The BBC will want to score a huge audience on Christmas Day and I suspect the day will look like this:

6.00am BREAKFAST
9.00 CBBC
10.15 Christmas Eucharist From Worcester Cathedral
11.15 FILM: The Santa Clause 2
12.55 BBC News
1.00 TBA
1.30 Top Of The Pops 2007
2.30 Robbie The Reindeer and Close Encounters of the Herd Kind
3.00 The Queen
3.10 FILM PREMIERE: Finding Nemo
4.40 FILM PREMIERE: Shrek 2
6.15 BBC News
6.25 EastEnders
7.00 Doctor Who
8.00 Strictly Come Dancing
9.00 My Family Christmas Special
9.50 Eastenders
10.25 BBC News
10.35 FILM: TBA
12.25 Christmas Epilogue
12.30 FILM: TBA
2.05 Joins News 24

Just had a lookski at the xmas schedules in my english class (We were doing a piece of work on it). It looks ok, but I can't help but wonder whats in that huge gap between lunch and then queen will hold

I also wonder if the "Richard Hammond meets Eval Kineval" will go ahead, due to the recent news of his death

I hope these provisional schedules are mostly made up as they look surprisingly dull. The only things that look interesting are Breakfast and Doctor Who, which I'd have watched anyway. It's a bit disappointing that the rest of the schedules are filled with usual repeats and filler programmes and non-premiere films. The only other thing that may be worth a watch is Shrek 2 (which I'm sure was on last year) and that's up against my Christmas dinner!

Wicko 's suggestion looks far more interesting

I wonder if Phillip Schofield's doing a Christmas Presents type thing this year?

Britain Sings Christmas - no doubt that'll be based on the Britain's Got Talent show with Ant and Dec.

As for Parky, bit odd they've put Celine Dion on at 9pm Confused

Yep, Philip Schofield is doing a Xmas Presents-style thing, I've had an email asking if I wanted tickets for the filming at the London Studios.

Philip Schofield is presenting the programme in that schedule, at 8pm Star Traders : The Christmas Challenge (with Colleen McLoughlin Shocked )

Britain Sings Christmas is celebrities carol singing for the Princes Trust. Kate Thornton presents, more here ....

I expect that Harry Hill will go out on that Saturday too. The star traders is a bit of a weak idea, I think that I'd prefer to see another version of the Christmas show that he did last year.

It should be interesting with the Celebrity Sing Song, though it is to raise money, and it will fill the gap left open on Saturdays from X Factor.

Where is Ant & Dec's Christmas special going in, or maybe ITV are thinking about putting something Christmassy and entertaining on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day!

Poor Kate Thornton - pays the bills though I suppose. Though if it is for the Prince's Trust, perhaps it doesn't!

And I just noticed that Noel's Christmas Presents is coming back this year but on Sky One not BBC1.

Also what used to signal to me that Christmas was on it's way was the 'Holidays are coming' Coke advert and the Toys R Us advert. Made me feel all Christmassy! But now Coke have dumped on their legacy with that creepy paedo Santa!! Just ghastly!
