I imagine a few people want to know what the christmas schedules are? Let me just say, if ITV keep showing soaps, then i'm going to explode, as I can't stand seeing crap like that on a festive season.
Does anyone have any info or guesses on 2004's Christmas schedules?
wont be long before THE SUN launches it's Free "Christmas TV Guide" and To Be Announced is bound to be on again this year! How many more weeks before someone (and I'm waiting Square Eyes) launches the "Official Christmas Ident Thread 2004" because I can EXCLUSIVELY reveal that I have received a letter from Christine Madden (BBC1 Marketing) confirming their plans for a new Ident this year (later confirmed nationally by launching a Blue Peter Competition) and an email from someone working on BBC2 Marketing revealing that there is to be NO new Christmas Ident this year, so we're stuck with Electro-Angel, Robo-Snowtwo and Ice cube.
With regards to Christmas Telly, Well ITV are showing the programmes listed above by Jez, but BBC1 are supposedly showing a Harry Potter Film, The Vicar of Dibley (Brand New) Bend It Like Beckham, Shrek, an Auf Wiedersehen Pet Christmas Special, A Holby City Special, aswell as a bumper crop of movie premieres for the festive fortnight.
I thought The Vicar Of Dibley was for Comic Relief?
the special was recorded on october 3rd and 10th at shepperton studios. The beeb traditionally play out a top sitcom on Christmas Day. they had a problem this year when they realised they didn't have one. So, as the Vicar of Dibley was rated 3rd in Britains Top sitcoms they called upon richard Curtis to write a new Christmas Special. Don't think it is relating to Christmas though! There may well be a short Comic Relief edition too, who knows, maybe a new series is planned. Dawn French is keen to put the dog collar on again.
I can't wait for those unoffical xmas TV guides in the newspapers from the end of November. Okay these guides are not very helpful and alot of the schedule is changed, but these guides at least give us a rough idea of what is to be shown over xmas and some of the film titles in these guides are actually shown in the end.
As a fan of the old films, I hope BBC2 run a few big film seasons over xmas. A Marlon Brando season or a Janet Leigh season would be superb with a screening of 'Psycho' or Brando's classic film 'On the Waterfront'. Oh and of course a season of Laurel & Hardy films as well
